If you ever find yourself in Tokyo, make sure you set aside at least a day to explore Tokyo Disneyland. If you're already thinking about it, here’s a guide to help you plan your day better.

Getting to Tokyo Disneyland from Central Tokyo

Thanks to Tokyo’s efficient transportation system, you can easily get to Tokyo Disneyland from central Tokyo in virtually no time. You can take the train or the bus. It’s one of the most popular attractions in the city, located in Tokyo, one of the busiest cities in the world, so the trains can be extremely crowded both going to and returning from the park.

Are There Any Places to Stay Nearby?

Yes, you have several options, ranging from budget-friendly to high-end, with plenty of choices in between. Pick a place according to your preference and its proximity to major attractions, bus stops, and train stations. For instance, lyf Ginza Tokyo, one of the hotels in Ginza District, Tokyo, is only 20 minutes from Tokyo Disneyland.

Busiest Times

Tokyo Disneyland is visited by throngs of tourists all year round, but certain periods attract larger crowds than usual:

The period from February to April, which is spring break

Golden Week, which falls in early May

Summer vacation

Halloween

Christmas

New Year holidays

During these times, Tokyo Disneyland may limit entry, especially during the spring and summer breaks, as a large number of students turn up at the gate. Also, there may be longer wait times than usual.

There are three types of tickets, each with a range of prices:

1-Day Passport: You can enter the park as soon as it opens. The prices are 7,900 yen, 8,400 yen, 8,900 yen, 9,400 yen, 9,900 yen, and 10,900 yen. One of these prices may apply depending on the season.

Tokyo Disneyland is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, depending on the season. However, on weekends, the park opens about 15 minutes earlier. No matter the day, there’s usually a long queue at the gate by 8 AM.

Attractions for Your Day at Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland features a wide range of attractions, and the following are the most popular, so they should be included in your one-day itinerary.

Pooh's Hunny Hunt

Here’s your chance to go on an adventure with Winnie the Pooh! Together, you can search for honey. The ride is designed to resemble a honey pot and moves without tracks, making each ride unpredictable and unique. Visitors love this attraction for its sense of surprise and the immersive environment. The walls resemble scenes from the storybooks, evoking a sense of nostalgia. It’s also, unsurprisingly, a popular spot for photos.

Splash Mountain

Looking for something thrilling and exciting? Check out Splash Mountain! Inspired by the Disney film Song of the South, this unique attraction can only be found at Tokyo Disneyland. There are sudden drops when you least expect them, which is what makes it so thrilling. Tumbling down splashes of water at great speed is one of the most memorable experiences you'll ever have.

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast

A fan of the Beauty and the Beast movie? Here’s your chance to experience it! You’ll be riding the magic cup through scenes from the film. Among the recreated scenes are the ballroom dance scene and the kitchenware singing scene.

Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters

This is an interactive attraction where you’ll join Buzz Lightyear and the Space Rangers to protect the universe. You’ll ride in a space cruiser while shooting a laser gun.

Big Thunder Mountain

Loved by even those who don’t typically enjoy thrill rides, Big Thunder Mountain offers a balanced mix of fun and adventure. The theme of the ride focuses on a mine shaft after the Gold Rush. You’ll race outdoors at varying speeds, and the scenery changes depending on the time of day.
