Grampas Book
Finding possibly world changing history

There was work to do. I did not care, I had been busting my hump between working, family and moving. We had decided to move cross country to give the family more opportunities. That was how I found myself sitting here going through a box of old family whatnot hiding from the reality and responsibilities. I was supposed to be weeding out anything that did not need to come with us, but instead I was having a moment with the past. I noticed a small black journal with a similar book bound to it. I did not remember seeing this before. Curious I picked them up, untied them, and began to peruse the journal. It was a journal of my grandfathers. It did not look like any of his other journals or notebooks, most were on permanent loan to various colleges and how it ended up here with me was anyone's guess. This looked like a journal of his from his time with the army during the second World War. Gramp’s had been Corp of Engineers and held a degree in chemistry and spoke German, which was why he had been ordered to remain in Germany after the war and help the Paperclip operations.
This journal documented his attempts to decipher what was apparently in the other book, and to my shock and surprise the other book documented a special find of the Studiengruppe Fur Germanisches Alterturn. How special was this information? Special enough the entire book was written in runes. At this point I began a little research of my own. Namely what was this German group? Turns out that after a couple quick Google searches I learned that Studiengruppe Fur Germanisches Alterturn or Thule Society was a pet project of Hienriech Himmler’s, a branch of the Nazi SS dedicated to occult practices!
One of the purposes of this group was to locate archeological evidence of aryan ancestors to legitimize the Nazi aryan supremecy claims. According to what gramps had managed to translate, what had been discovered, was not only evidence of an advanced ancient civilization but one with advanced technology. The German archaeologists had stumbled onto ancient people that were able to generate large amounts of power from only water- decades before hydrogen fuel cells. The Germans found and translated an ancient narrative of how to generate power from a fairly straight forward catalyzed water system. This was way over my head, it was time for a few discreet enquiries. First I needed to find out if this technology was even possible and go from there. It was not easy and took several days to be informed that, yes theoretically it is possible, however akin to cold fusion it was unlikely. This is when the weird began.
At first I did not notice, between the move, children and work. Also gramps’ journal was not my immediate priority. It was something that as I had time I pursued for more information. It started with folks appearing and claiming to be “collectors” that wanted the journal and book as historical items. At the time if I had been thinking more clearly this should have been a huge red flag since I had not mentioned the journal or book to anyone I made enquiries to. Something just seemed off about who I was being contacted by. For starters they did not have any verifiable means of contact for one. As the folks wanting the books became more adamant, I left the journal and book with a trusted friend to keep the books and more importantly my family safe. A few months later and fairly settled at our new home on the other side of the country I was still being pestered by folks trying to get the books! My friend had informed me when I picked up the books as we were leaving town that he had been approached about the books and had refused to engage with the folks asking. In light of all this I put the books in a pretty secure location in the new house.
I must have alarmed some serious group of people, there were people stopping in front of the house at all hours spending from a few minutes to several hours. Never getting out of their cars, just watching the house. Concerned for my family and my friend who had held the books for me, I had decided to call him and he informed me the same thing was happening to him! However, what could I do about people sitting in their cars on a public street? This told me whoever they were, they were not sure where the books were. As I was having lunch a few weeks later I was joined by an older gentleman who came over to my table and sat down as if he was an old friend. Before I could say anything he said, “I know what is going on and who they are.” I was at a loss for words and he continued, “We know what you have and can help.” He slid a business card across the table and left. His card read: Max Rosenthal, Attorney at Law.
I debated calling for a few days, finally letting my curiosity get the better of me. With no small amount of trepidation, I dialed the number. After a few rings I was greeted by a charming female voice announcing, “Rosenthal law office, how may I help you?” So far the antithesis of the so called “collecters”. Not wanting to give any more information than I could help, also to see how much “Max” may know, I simply said
“Max provided me with his card.” To which she responded,
“One moment sir, he is expecting your call.” I almost dropped the phone! My rational brain told me I was getting confused with someone else, all the weirdness going on since I found the books told me otherwise. After a brief hold I was greeted with,
“So glad you called, are you available to meet?” Since I was off that day, kids were at school and the missus was at work I said I was free that afternoon. “Max” gave me an address and asked me to meet him there in a couple hours. The address was about 35 minutes away and looked like a strip mall.
I showed up a few minutes early and between a dry cleaners and a closed computer repair was Rosenthal Law Offices. I went inside and the receptionist was as charming in person as she was on the phone and without looking up from the computer told me Mr. Rosenthal would be right with me. “Max” came out of his office and showed me to a small conference room off the reception area. Feeling I had nothing to lose at this point I asked, “What in the hell is going on?” “Max” smiled, sat back and said,
“I am sure you would not have believed any of what I am about to tell you had you not had the experiences you have had in the last couple months.” Quite intrigued I listened as “Max” explained how over the last few centuries science and technology had been hijacked by those that exploited it for personal gain. What I had found was believed by the energy cabal to have been destroyed years ago as it would have made creating their now multi trillion dollar a year monopoly far more difficult. “Max” went on to say that he represented those who felt safe clean energy was a right, not a commodity. Stunned, I asked “So what now?”. “Max” informed me that he did not need the books, just the information in them. Would I be willing to provide him with a video recording of the contents of both books? I would be well compensated for it.
So we set up a plan where “Max” provided me with a secure smartphone that I would scan the books with. Sounded simple enough, however what about those folks watching the house? “Max” told me not to worry, it was already being dealt with. So over the next few days I made a video of the contents of each book. At that same time I noticed that the “visitors” were no longer in front of the house. When I brought the phone back to the office the receptionist was still there, yet “Max” was not and the office looked mostly packed up. She thanked me and handed me a letter. It was a simple form letter informing me to enter a sweepstakes from a notice I would receive in the mail. I had no real hopes of getting paid, all I wanted was the weirdness to stop. However, when the mentioned sweepstakes showed up a few days later I dutifully entered and sent it back. To my surprise around six weeks later I received a winners certification with a check for one-point-two-million (the point-two was to cover taxes). I had many questions and wanted to call “Max”. Small problem, I could not find Max’s card or any listing for Rosenthal law offices at that address. Curious I went to where Max’s office had been only to find it and the computer repair was completely empty and for lease signs in the windows.I went to the dry cleaners and asked when the law office closed. Party at the counter informed me that the rest of the stores had been empty for over a year. Confused and relieved, here I was with a tidy windfall not to mention still had gramps books- all-in-all a solid win. Appears this all ended as suddenly and surprisingly as it began.
