Fun and Free Things to Do with Your Children
That You Will Also Enjoy

When you have children, you want to be able to give them everything that life has to offer. Unfortunately, it isn't always that simple. It often takes money to show your children everything that you want to. Lucky for you, there are plenty of ways to spend time with your family that doesn't cost anything (or much).
Here are some fun and free things that you can do with your children.
Go to a local playground (or try a new one that is farther away).
No matter where you are, there should be several playgrounds that are convenient for you. Spending time running around and playing on a playground with your children can be a great way to bond with each other.
Pack a picnic in the park.
Picnics in the park can bring great joy for families. While you may want to make some sandwiches, you may also decide to make hot dogs or hamburgers on the grill at the park. You could even have a fancy meal outside with your family.
Go for a hike.
Going for a hike can be great for your family. Not only are you spending quality time together, you are also exercising. While getting in shape, you are also showing your children how important it is to be healthy.

Play sports.
If your children enjoy sports, take time out of your busy day and play. Grab a few balls and go outside to play.
Watch movies at home.
Movies at home are a delightful way to spend an evening. You might have a few movies at your home, or you may have a streaming service that just came out with a new movie. Pop some popcorn, grab some blankets, and enjoy!
Read books together.
Most children love story time. Even older children (who can read) enjoy being read to. So, even if your children are older, you may want to put them on your lap and read together.
Make a blanket fort in your house.
You probably remember building forts out of blankets and boxes in your living room when you were young. You enjoyed spending time designing these forts and then playing in them for hours. Because of that, you should enjoy doing the same with your children.

Take advantage of your local library.
Many libraries offer fun activities for families to do. This is especially true for younger children, but you might be amazed at how many things that you can do at your local library. They offer story time and plenty of crafts. They may even have special guests that you (and your children) will enjoy. Could you imagine how much you could actually learn at the library?
Check out a free museum or a zoo.
Many museums and zoos are free (or at least affordable). Some even let you in for free on certain days. By planning ahead, you might be amazed at how many free experiences you can have.
Just because you are being careful with your money doesn't mean that your children have to suffer. You can still give them plenty of fun experiences, without spending too much money. Some are even free!
You may want to spend time with your children at the park or even take a picnic lunch there. Rainy days can be spent in a blanket fort or watching movies. You can give your children some good experiences, with some extra planning. You should see what your local library offers, as well as museums and zoos. Even if they aren't free, you might be able to find a deal that is very affordable.
