Fisherman and a Golden Fish

Once upon a time, in a small coastal village, there lived a poor fisherman named Sam. Sam spent his days out at the lake every day, casting his nets and hoping for a good catch to feed his family. He will sell the fish in the market and bought to his wife's like things. But, his wife is greedy. He bought a lot of things for her, but she will ask more than the things every time. One day, as Sam was preparing his boat for another day of fishing, he noticed something shimmering in the water. That time a golden fish is caught in his bait.

That time the golden fish said,” Fisherman! Fisherman, please spare my life, I will be a good friend to you. I promise to grant you any four wishes you desire”. When the fish asked, the fisherman got shocked. So, he released the fish from the bait. After that, he went home and told about this to his wife. When she heard this matter and got angry. She said loudly,” Why did you leave that talking fish?

Did you ask the fish for a very big house for us” Sam went to the lake immediately and called the fish, and suddenly the fish appear above the water. Then he asked, “Golden fish , I accept your offer, can you give me a mansion?”, suddenly the golden fish accept his request and told a magic word. After that he went to his home, his house changed into a big cottage. Days turned into weeks. And life in the cottage was happy. After a few days, his wife didn’t get happy. She said to Sam,” Immediately You will go to the lake and ask the fish to give us a palace”. Sam went to the lake immediately and called the golden fish, and asked” Can you give a big Palace?”. The fish accept the request and told a magic word. After he went to his home, his mansion changed into a big Palace.

This time also his wife didn’t get happy. So, the wife disturbed Sam and told loudly,” Can ask for a house which is in the cloud !” with her greedy angry face. Again Sam went to the lake and told the fish what his wife told him. Again the fish told the magic word. After that, the fisherman went to his house, But there is no house and nothing in that place. He got fear and ran quickly to the lake and he told to the fish what he saw. The fish told that” You asked for a house in the cloud, so the house flew and it is in the cloud now”.

When he heard this matter he was getting sad. That time he asked the fish,” Can you please give my wife without greed?”. The fish said, “This time you asked me what you really want" and told the magic word. After that, he went to his house and got a surprise. At this time he saw his old house in the same place. But, always getting angry wife came with a happy face. He got very happy because his wife returned and also changed into a good wife. After they lived happily.

The story of the fisherman and the golden fish spread throughout the village, teaching everyone a valuable lesson about the dangers of greed and the importance of appreciating what they had. And so, the golden fish remained a legend in the village, a symbol of the choices we make and the power of contentment.
