Felicity the Fox and Friends

Summertime is Felicity Fox's favorite time of year. She loves to play lily pads with her friend Frank the Frog and her friend Shawn the Squirrel.

Today to her surprise she had her woodland friend Shawn the squirrel waiting and wanting eagerly to play by the pond with their other friend Frank the frog.

It was a perfect summer day not too hot either and Felicity was so excited that school was out for summer finally.

“Mrs. Fox may Felicity come out to play!” exclaimed Shawn the squirrel waiting by Felicity's front door.

Felicity grabbed her beach bag with toys to build sandcastles.

Quickly she slipped into her swimsuit as soon as she heard her dear friend at the door asking if she could go out and play. With a dash, she was standing right beside her mom ready to embark on this perfect sunshiny day.

“Let's go to the Pond Shawn and play lily pad with Frank the frog! I brought all my toys to build a sandcastle on the beach with all our Froggie friends!” said Felicity excited to play.

So Shawn the squirrel and Felicity the fox ran as fast as they could to the pond not too far from Felicity the fox's fox hole.

“I just love to splash in the water I am so happy school is over with and we can have fun this summer.” Said Felicity with panting breathe from running anticipating her fun day in the sun with friends.

Walter the Wolf then ran by; “The last one in the pond is the rotten egg! He yelled with pride.

“Oh, Walter your so silly you know that Shawn the squirrel...can outrun us both!” Yelled Felicity the Fox as Shawn the squirrel ran as fast as he could passing not only Felicity but also Walter the Wolf.

As soon as they got to the pond they jumped in the cool refreshing water. Frank the frog then jumped in doing a cannonball.

They all laughed, played, and splashed all day. Making up new games but also playing their favorite game lily pad.

The object of the lily pad game is to be able to jump from lily pad to lily pad without falling in the water.

Frank the frog obviously was an expert playing this game which frustrated Felicity the Fox.

“You always win Frank the frog I wish my family lived at the pond so I could play lily pad all day like you do Frank the frog.”

“I know Felicity it's just second nature to me! But I can teach you how to jump really high so you can be better at the game! Frank the frog said with encouragement.

“You are the best Frank the frog so why not learn from the best,” Felicity replied.

After playing lily pad for hours the sun was about to set.

“UH OH! Felicity, we better get back home for dinner so our Mommy and Daddy's don't yell at us for staying to long at the pond.” Shawn the squirrel yelled while still splashing Frank the Frog and Walter the Wolf.

Felicity looked disappointed. They still hadn't built the big sandcastle yet that Felicity packed all her toys for that day.

“Don't be sad Felicity we can always build your sandcastle tomorrow!” Frank the frog said while giving Felicity a hug.

“ You are right Frank it's summertime we can't pack all the fun in just one day,” Felicity replied excitedly!

So exhausted Felicity and Shawn the Squirrel walked tiredly for dinner that bright sunny day. Knowing that there would be more fun days of Summertime ahead for them both.
