Day Dreams
A fiction story based on a “A Small Back Book”!
Dear readers, this is the diary story of how the “Small Black Notebook “changed my life! My name is Sherelle and I grew up as an identical twin. I am currently 22 yrs of age, Janelle & I grew up in a small town name Callmanor.
There in Callmanor was a small population of about 4000 people, from all walks of life! When I state all walks I meant all walks lol, including but not limited to Quakers, Indians, Hillbillies, Mexicans, African etc. I guess it was safe to say, that Callmanor was the melting pot for free civilization. About 40% of the town childrens parents opted to home school their kids; as the other 60% of kids attended the only public school available name Moose School of Callmanor.
Janelle and I were like night & day, you can say I was the good aka level headed twin & she was the bad aka misunderstood twin. Mother & father decided to send us to Moose school, we’re I enjoyed learning and helping others classmates that may have been struggling with work assignments. Some called me the teacher’s pet, Janelle on the other hand enjoyed making fun of others that was different, needless to say she didn’t have time to focus on school work lol. So these difference of our personallies led to lots of sibling fights & arguments growing up. Let’s just say that I was & still am a very big day dreamer ! I’d always rather just daydream on my spare free time, rather then going outside to play like the average kid. I mostly daydream of getting out of Callmanor once I was old enough; I wanted to be a super star & travel the world to see new exciting people & things ! I believe that being a daydreamer is what help play a role in finding the “Little Black Notebook”.
So as I was the daydreamer, Janelle was just content with the current environment of which we were confined too. With so many different walks of life that our town held, it was like a scene from a Wild Wild Western show! There was never a dull moment and it was truly quite entertaining living for those whom didn’t have a vision outside of our small home town! Long story short I went to become the first & honor roll graduate of or family from Moose school; as Janelle had dropped out by the eighth grade, following foot steps of some family & peers.
She an a group of misfits went on to continue a life of petty mischief for a while; until she was found dead by the age of 20! Apparently she had got caught up in the dangerous Wild Wild West life style, being as we grew up in proverty, who knows what lead up to her ultimate decision making & or fate. So at age 20 when that devastating news took place in my time line, my heart shattered into so many pieces that I could have never imagined! As I had still been living home with our parents trying to find steady work, so that I could possibly get OUT of Callmanor soon!
One night around 2am when I was having hard times sleeping due to anxiety that I was now facing after Janelle’s death. I decided to visit the grave site were most of our families had been buried now including Janelle. I took along with me a flash light, blanket, fathers old hand gun & a pint of homemade liquor! Yesssss it was safe to say that I was still mourning & depressed over her passing, as I went to visit her. To my surprise I wasn’t the only lonely weirdo there, as I Immediately pulled out fathers old pistol from my purse! I spotted someone from a short distance watching me with a long black trench coat on! As I was literally shaking in my boots I yelled out, hey who are you, can I help you with something! All at the same time pointing the gun and flash light like a scene off of NYPD blue lol. The person remain silent, I now had let off a warning shot to scare he or she away! As the person now sprinted off, I’ve reached the spot were the person had been standing. I don’t know if this person dropped or purposely left behind “A Small Black Notebook”. But I picked it up an immediately I ran to my car then drove back home!
The next morning I woke up anxiously to open the “Small Black Notebook”, this book was kinda old and worn looking w/ a black leather covering. I opened the book and the inside of it had contained a personal family photo, a location and a very special message from Janelle! As my heart just skipped a couple of beats & the “Small Black Notebook” fell to the floor of my room; I now cried for about 45 mins! I couldn’t believe it, Janelle left behind the location of where she stashed 20,000$ right before she died!
The very special message stated,
Dear Sherelle
my very own loving twin sister. If you are reading this “Small Black Notebook” then this means that I’m dead; sorry for the pain & grief I’ve caused you & the family. As you know, well as I that you and I were like night & day lol! There is no need to go into much details right now, but just know that I’ve always loved you very much and always will! So I want to help your daydreaming come true by leaving behind 20,000$ that i managed to stash away before I left earth; now go retrieve the money, make a difference and our parents proud!
Love always your twin sis Janelle!
