After Doctors Said He Won't Live Past 2 Years, Check Out Recent Photos of Jodie's Son All Grown Up

Chinua is now a big boy

Five years ago, Nigerian singer Jodie was in the labor room having her son Chinua and she thought she was going to die. In an interview with Linda Ikeji TV, Jodie revealed that on the day of his birth she had to do an emergency Caesarean Section and after the baby was removed from her, she thought she was going to die. They had given her an anesthetic and before she went down, the last thing she asked was “Is Chinua fine? Is my baby going to be fine” to which her husband at the time said, yes, he was.

Chinua as a baby

Jodie said that she was ready to die that day as long as she knew that her son would be okay. Thankfully, Chinua did not die. But there was a problem. Chinua did not cry for nine hours after his birth. After the ninth hour, he cried and after hearing from the doctor, Jodie and her family took the new baby Chinua home.

Later, Jodie said that she started to notice a depression in Chinua’s head. They took him to the hospital and after being referred to hospital after hospital and doing scan after scan, Chinua was diagnosed with Lissencephaly and Cerebral Palsy. The doctors told her that lissencephaly is a rare brain disorder and cerebral palsy is the more popular one and there was no cure. Some people, even doctors, adviced her to leave the baby with her mother or some other help because he would drive her crazy and he would be too much stress. Friends and people around told her to not take pictures of the boy, to not take him out, because of the depression in his head and the shape of his skull.

The doctors told Jodie that her child may not walk, may not talk, and would most probably die before he even got to 2 years old.

This was FIVE years ago, and on April 9, 2021, Jodie took to Instagram to share pictures along with a celebratory birthday message of her son Chinua who defied death, defied the odds, and is alive and well now five years later. Are you ready to see Chinua today? Then let’s go!

Taking to her Instagram page, Jodie shared a message to her fans saying:

My son, @Chinuabobo, who defied doctors' predictions and exceeded the "two-year old" mark is *5* today 💃🏽.

With this, she also attached this picture of herself and Chinua.

But that’s not the only picture of Chinua I found. Chinua is now a big boy and there are several pictures of him standing when people said he would not stand, smiling, happy.

Doctors know a lot but even doctors do not know it all. A special child is a blessing and should never be thrown away. We don’t know why gives us what it gives us but we must find the beauty and gratitude in all things. Today, Jodie says her baby makes her the happiest she’s ever been and she sees him as the most special boy in the world. He is her light. What would have happened if she had listened to the negative words of the doctors and the naysayers?

Happy fifth birthday to Chinua. This is to many more years on this beautiful planet you beautiful boy. Cheers!

That’s All.
