- Occlusion therapy works only for children but is not as effective on adults. However binocular vision therapy has been proven to be effective for adults as well as children, with the same effectiveness.
- Better results for binocular vision are possible through treatment for binocular vision rather as opposed to occlusion.
- The duration of treatment is three times longer when using binocular visual therapy over Occlusion.
- Amblyopia's recurrence rate is high when occlusion is present but is lower with binocular vision treatment.
- Children who did not improve their visual acuity following Occlusion therapy showed improvements in their visual acuity following the binocular vision therapy.
