Erdamal was a woman with little luck , so she was one of the last to hear that the Great Soid, the powerful wizard, was going to distribute his treasures before setting off on a long journey. She ran to his cave in the mountains , but arrived just at the end, when the wizard had only one enormous chest left.
- Oh, I don't have anything else. I only have this chest left, but it's too valuable, and I wasn't going to give it to anyone .
However, seeing Erdamal's disappointment, he added:
- But you seem like a nice person. If you're willing to take good care of it , you can keep it and use it however you want until I get back.
The young woman excitedly accepted the offer, receiving something so valuable, and the magician disappeared instantly. Erdamal was happy to have been lucky for the first time and began to push the chest home. Since it was a very heavy chest, she soon grew tired of pushing, so she decided to open it to take out whatever was inside and take it home without the chest . But there was nothing inside. Furious, she thought it had all been a practical joke by the magician. Erdamal lamented her bad luck again, as she had promised to take care of a huge, empty, and worthless chest.
Tired and discouraged, from then on all she could think about was getting rid of the chest . She didn't care that people stopped to admire it; she just wanted to stop carrying that heavy chest. That's why she didn't hesitate to leave it with Ipap and Amam, a couple she crossed paths with . They had arrived even later than Erdamal to the magician's delivery, and were returning from the mountain empty-handed. When she saw her offering them her large chest, they were filled with joy. It was a magnificent, impressive chest, and they couldn't believe its owner didn't want it .
"It's useless. It has no treasure inside, and it's enormously heavy. Take it and look after it yourselves . I've carried it for too long and I have no more strength."
The young couple realized that Erdamal was so discouraged that she was no longer able to admire the beauty of the chest, and they were delighted to keep it. The journey was hard and heavy, but they knew it was no ordinary chest , and they didn't mind making a great effort. At home, they cared for it and cleaned it, reserving the most prominent place for it to proudly show it to their friends. They polished it so much day after day that over time it began to lose its old coat of paint, giving way to something shinier . This is how they discovered what their hearts had always told them: that the chest itself was a great treasure, for it was all made of gold and precious stones.
That treasure, the pride of Ipap and Amam, became very famous, and people came from all over to admire it . Only one person was unable to see it: poor Erdamal, for whom the chest never lost its appearance of a huge, empty, and heavy box. But no one dared say anything to her because, after all, she was a woman of very little luck .
And that's how we all are. An incredible treasure that our parents care for and pamper so that it shines brighter than any other. Perhaps the person who first took you in had a heart so broken and weary that they couldn't see the treasure you were hiding inside, but luckily they led you to your parents, who saw it from the very beginning .

This story beautifully transforms a simple fable into a profound metaphor for adoption and perspective. The symbolism of the “heavy chest” as both burden and blessing is powerfully conveyed with empathy and wisdom.
