A New Beginning

Hello Everyone and welcome to our blog! This post is the first of many as we journey through the transition of becoming a tiny family in a tiny home.

You may be wondering why I choose to start this adventure? Well I have a passion for this planet we live upon and I also greatly enjoy my independence which I believe living as we traditionally do these days I have lost.

Like most individuals and families these days I have my share of woes including finances and one day not too long along I was searching for a solution (there is always a solution to a problem is my motto) and well the Tiny House seemed to be the solution I am looking for. Not as quickly I’d like it to be (darn us millennials always want to get things done as quick as possible so I hear), but in the long run it will be worth it.

Yet first let’s back up a few months or so. Trust me it will make more sense with some back story.

I’ve been a single mom for as long as my son has been alive, well almost. I have had my share of hopeful, but not so good relationships, as well as jobs. Somewhere along the way I've become very dependent on personal relationships, within the corporate world of jobs and this thing we call society.

In essence I feel I have lost my independence in one aspect to gain it in another, but it has not become full circle yet (damn it!). Which leads me to back to when I went searching for a solution to my lost independence.

I had to be very honest with myself, as I sat in front of the computer screen, that (through my experiences) at the end of the day my child counts on me and I can only count on myself. Don’t get me wrong I have friends, family. There is a ton of people who walk this Earth and a bunch of resources we can access and without them it would make this life a little tougher. Yet in the name of independence and being honest with myself in the moment, I can only count on me to achieve the life I dream of for our tiny family. So I started googling away looking for a house a could afford, something small, something…just something. Hours later down the rabbit hole of the world wide web and I found it, The Tiny House Movement. Although not what I had originally started searching for, I was ecstatic!

The Tiny House Movement although a lot of work seems it fits the bill, at least for us. To gain back some of our independence and control, inline with my passion to save this planet of ours, be able to fix some woes and the list goes on.

Really it’s a grand exit plan to start on a new path and a new beginning…
