A Mother's Love

Mom Discoveries

By Kim MalonePublished 5 years ago Updated 4 years ago 3 min read

We are all brought into this world by a woman we then call mom. The title of "mom" embodies so much more than just giving birth.....some would say that giving birth is one of the most difficult things that women do, but I would disagree.

Giving birth is just the beginning of the pain that moms endure over a lifetime of raising the little peanut that she couldn't wait to release from her body. The moment that she looks into the face of her swadalled baby that was created in her womb...an undescribable love is born.

Moms feel their children's pain, hope for them...dream for them, protect them and hopefully prepare them for this life full of twists and turns. Good moms sacrifice everything for their children....moms spend their time making life better for her children. They go without so their children can have....they live on caffien for lack of sleep....moms study nutrition to provide healthy meals for her family...all while also taking care of the father in the house if they are so blessed to have a dad in the picture.

Her children are the reason she breathes, the reason she fights and the reason she grows and learns to release her child that she loves the most into this world....to be a contributing, responsible adult into her communtiy and leave their mark on this world.

Her children are a testament to her love, care and sacrifice for them. A mother's heart has no capacity...it is as vast as the stars in the sky....the grass on the earth and the planets in the universe.

Her world revolves around them...she lives for them. I know all of this because I am a mom. My mom got handed a bad deal in life. I didn't get to meet her until I was 18 years old. All of our precious moments were stolen by things we could not control. It was very painful for both of us.

I was the first child in the state of Texas to be awarded to the father....though he tried to play both roles....a mother cannot be replaced. When I turned 18, I finally got to meet her.

She had suffered the worst thing that can happen to a mother and I suffered without her. We were separated. Moving forward in time, I brought five children into this world and I have been able to share them with her.

We have been able to restore that which was lost....a mother's bond. There is nothing like it in the world and there is nothing that a mother's love can't heal or make better.

Finding my mother and becoming a mother has brought me unspeakable joy. It has taught me so much.....not without difficulties and heartache, but all of that is far out-weighed by the unmeasurable bond of a mother's love.

The hardest part is is the shifting of the relationship from children to adults....when your children are now grown and mom can no longer control the situation. No more "go to you room", "change that outfit" or anything else. Nothing but advice from here on out....just a suggestion.....when mom knows they are about to make a mistake....but only offers comforting advice hoping they will listen.

A mothers heart never changes. She will always love unto death. She will always sacrifice all for her children. She will always lay in bed worried about them...she can never let go......

Moms are powerful. One of the most powerful creatures on earth. They navigate through raising their children to grow up leave them. Both the most rewarding and painful thing in the world.

This is truly the hardest part....mom has to let go and yet her grown children still need her. She will always be there for as long as she has breath. Mom was the center of their world for ages and she will never be forgotten by them.

I love my mom. I am so grateful for her, she is always there for me when I need her the most with my "adult" problems... even as I am there for my children...her grandchildren. We are a united force, helping to direct the beautiful people that came from our womb.

Family. Made by mom.....with a little help from dad.
