A Day on the Farm

Lessons of Hard Work, Patience, and Care

An Amazing Story by Habib

The rooster crowed loudly at dawn, and Lina slowly opened her eyes. It was still a little dark, but she knew it was time to get up. Today was special she was going to help her grandfather on the farm. Lina quickly put on her worn-out boots and tied her hair back. The smell of fresh morning air greeted her as she stepped outside.

Her grandfather was already

waiting near the field with his old straw hat and a kind smile. “Good morning, Lina,” he said warmly. “Today, we will plant corn. Farming is hard work, but it is also full of blessings.”

Lina nodded eagerly. First, they prepared the soil. Her grandfather used a hoe to loosen the ground, while Lina followed behind, picking out small stones and smoothing the soil with her hands. “The land must be ready,” her grandfather explained, “because good soil gives a good harvest.”

Next, Lina took the corn seeds and placed them carefully in straight rows. She worked slowly, wanting to do it right. Her grandfather covered the seeds with soil and patted the ground firmly. After planting, they fetched water from the well. It was heavy, and Lina’s arms ached as she carried the bucket, but she didn’t stop. She poured the water gently over the soil, imagining the tiny seeds waking up and growing roots.

In the afternoon, Lina’s task

changed. She helped her grandfather feed the animals. She scattered grains for the chickens, who dashed toward the food, clucking happily. Lina laughed when one chicken tried to snatch food from another. Then, she went to the chicken coop and collected fresh eggs. Each egg felt warm in her hands, and she placed them carefully in a basket.

Before sunset, Lina and her grandfather rested under a tree. The sky was painted in orange and pink. Lina’s clothes were

dirty, and her hands were rough, but she felt proud. She realized that farming was not just about growing food, it was about patience, care, and love for nature.

Her grandfather looked at her and said, “Remember, Lina, life is like farming. If you work hard, stay patient, and care for what you plant, you will enjoy the fruits of your labour. The land teaches us to be humble and grateful.”

That evening, Lina returned home tired but with a joyful

heart. She had learned that every grain of rice, every ear of corn, and every egg on the table came from someone’s effort. Farming was not easy, but it was meaningful.

Moral:

Hard work, patience, and care always bring good results. Just like seeds grow into crops, our efforts in life grow into success when we do not give up.
