Whispers in the Dark
In the corner of the quiet night,
Shadows dance in the faint moonlight.
A child lies with eyes open wide,
As fear seeps in, nowhere to hide.
The creak of the floor, a rustle of air,
Monsters imagined in every stare.
A closet door slightly ajar,
Reveals the glow of a phantom star.
The wind it howls, the tree it sways,
Branches tapping in ghostly ways.
The child pulls blankets up to their chin,
As courage battles the fear within.
A tiny voice whispers soft and small,
“Is someone there? Or nothing at all?”
Yet silence answers, a deafening roar,
As the dark grows deeper than before.
But as the night begins to fade,
The child sees the monsters disobeyed.
For with the dawn comes golden light,
Chasing away the fears of night.
Now tucked in warmth, their heartbeat slows,
The child smiles, for somewhere knows:
That shadows only live in the past,
And morning brings peace at last. The child dreams beneath the sky so clear,
Of worlds untouched by shadow or fear.
Fields of flowers, rivers that sing,
A place where laughter and courage spring.
But even in dreams, the lesson stays,
That fear is a night that always fades.
A moment fleeting, a shadow’s trace,
Banished by hope’s gentle embrace.
For every creak, there’s a steady floor,
For every dark, a sunlit door.
And though the whispers may return,
A child’s strength will brightly burn.
In time, they’ll learn what darkness hides:
Not monsters grim, but the strength inside.
For every child who faces the night,
Will find their heart aglow with light. And as they grow, they’ll come to know,
The fears that seemed to deeply sow,
Were seeds of courage, planted tight,
Blooming strong in morning’s light.
For every shadow teaches grace,
Every tremble builds a base,
Of wisdom forged in trial’s hue,
A fearless heart, steady and true.
The creaks, the winds, the branches’ sway,
Will no longer pull their peace away.
For they will rise with the morning sun,
Knowing battles with fear can be won.
And someday too, they’ll soothe a child,
Whose fears run loose, whose thoughts run wild.
With tender words, they’ll guide them through,
“Fear fades, my love, just like the dew.”
For from the night, a truth does start—
That courage lives in every heart.
And whispers soft, or shadows deep,
Are powerless where dreams can leap. So, hand in hand with time, they’ll grow,
Through every dusk, through every glow.
The world may cast its fleeting shade,
But they’ll stand firm, unafraid.
For storms may howl, and winds may bite,
Yet still they’ll walk into the night.
With steady breath and head held high,
They’ll chase the dark, they’ll touch the sky.
And when the stars shine bright and near,
They’ll see the truth: there’s naught to fear.
The things unseen, the unknown call,
Are not to dread, but to enthrall.
For fear’s a veil that clears with time,
Revealing life’s unending climb.
From child to dreamer, strong and free,
A soul that dares eternity.
And as they guide another small hand,
Through shadowed paths and shifting sand,
They’ll share the truth they’ve come to know:
Fear is fleeting, but courage will grow. And so, the circle turns once more,
A child stands where they stood before.
With trembling hands and quiet plea,
They face the dark, as all must see.
But now, a voice both soft and wise,
Offers comfort, steadies cries.
“It’s just the wind, the trees that play,
The night will soon give way to day.”
The child looks up, their fear still near,
But feels the strength in those words clear.
A flame ignites, a spark so small,
A seed of courage begins its call.
For every heart must face its test,
Through sleepless nights and troubled rest.
Yet love will guide, a gentle light,
Through endless dark, to morning bright.
And in their turn, this child will grow,
To teach the lessons they now know.
That fear is fleeting, like morning dew,
And bravery lies within, in you.
Thus, fear and courage waltz through time,
In every heart, in every climb.
A legacy of light passed down,
Transforming shadows into crowns. And in that crown of courage bright,
Lies every tear, each sleepless night.
For every shadow faced and fought,
Has shaped the strength their soul has sought.
The world may cast its storms and rain,
But fear, once harsh, will wane, will wane.
The child who trembled, small and slight,
Will one day stand, a guiding light.
And under skies both dark and vast,
They’ll share the wisdom of their past:
“Do not fear the night’s embrace,
For even stars need shadowed space.
“Within the quiet, strength takes form,
A calm within the fiercest storm.
The dark will test, but never stay;
Each night will break to dawn’s array.”
So let the circle turn and spin,
Where courage starts, it will begin again.
From child to guardian, bold and free,
A timeless dance, eternity.
Thus fear becomes a fleeting friend,
A chapter brief that soon will end.
And in its place, the brightest fire,
A heart alive, a soul inspired.
