6 Ideas for a Tiny Home Build

The possibilities are endless for the tiny home that will help you to save money on the high price of a mortgage.

House prices are continually increasing especially as there is less availability and the fact that inflation is always causing costs of goods to rise. This has led many across the country to consider a tiny home build. The possibilities are endless for the tiny home that will help you to save money on the high price of a mortgage.

1. Radiant Floor Heating

Just because you live in or are designing a tiny home does not mean that there is not a heating and cooling system that will keep you comfortable all year. Consider a tiny house heating system such as radiant floor mats that are customized to the square footage of your home and to your specific floor plan. The mats are simply laid out before the flooring is put down in the building process for easy installation. It literally takes less than half an hour to set up a heating system in your tiny home rather than wasting space for some type of HVAC system.

2. Slide Out Storage

If you have ever been in an RV, then you have seen slide-out storage first hand. These compartments are literally stored into the walls, and you can press a button to retrieve what you need. These slide-out options are perfect for your tiny home as you can save on space and can still have room for the necessities that matter to you the most. They are even perfect for you if you plan to travel in your tiny home as they will keep your belongings safe on the road.

3. Multipurpose Furniture

Multipurpose furniture is similar to slide-out storage in that you only access it in your tiny home when you need it. You can get a fold-up dining room table, for instance, that can be put away when you want to use the seats as couches. You can even double the living room as a bedroom by opting for sleeper sofas that pull out from under the cushions. Consider even a bookshelf that is recessed into the walls so that it does not take up the space you need.

4. Put In a Loft

Many who have a tiny home waste the space that they have right above their heads. Put a loft into your tiny home that can become an office space or even an extra bedroom for you and your guests. You can then install a ladder against a wall to get into the loft so that you do not waste space in your home for a staircase either. Do not worry, as these can still be just as cozy as your regular bedroom if you take some time to decorate them wisely.

5. Save Counter Space

If you plan to cook in your tiny home, you need all of the counter space that you can manage. Save as much counter space as you can by storing your kitchen goods on shelves or using specialized designs for the products. You can use a hanging rack, for instance, for all of your pots and pans that will, again, use the space that is above your head. Put up a utensil rack or a mug rack on the wall that can hold all of your coffee essentials or all of your kitchen utensils for easy reach.

6. Put Hooks Everywhere

Wall and overhead space, as has been mentioned, are some of the areas of your tiny home that are the most forgotten by owners. You can literally put hooks and shelves up anywhere in your home to hold your belongings. These will allow still for plenty of space on the floor or in your living space so that you do not feel claustrophobic or do not feel as if your space is cluttered. You can even install a wide shelf on a wall to function as a desk for you if you need office space.

Final Thoughts

When you are building a tiny home, you want to maximize the space that is available. With this in mind, make sure you have many storage options that do not take up floor or closet space. Make sure too that you choose an HVAC system that does take up room and that you have furniture that has multiple purposes for your needs.
