10 Work Triggers That Come From Childhood Trauma

The problem with triggers is that sometimes they're not always obvious.

There are many types of trauma that can occur in children's lives, but the effects of these traumas may not be visible to others. These hidden triggers could cause problems later in life, ruining their careers and lives. Here are 10 common childhood traumas that have the potential to be work triggers.

1. Sexual Abuse

One of the most common traumas that can cause a person to have trouble with their career is sexual abuse, both sexual and physical. Children who experience this sort of trauma often start off in the workforce with great potential, only to sabotage themselves. Sexual abuse can lead to feelings of shame that can make it hard for people to have confidence and start a career.

2. Parental Death

Parental death leads to extreme feelings of grief, and children often find themselves not wanting to participate in activities at school since they know their parents will no longer come home. This is especially problematic if the child has been brought up believing that their parent is perfectly healthy if they see them every day.

3. Peer Abuse

People who have been abused by their peers will often find it hard to trust anyone because they do not know what sort of person that person is. They may become frustrated and start losing self-confidence, which can lead to a loss of confidence while working in a job.

4. Bullying

Many people are bullied in childhood, leading them to experience anxiety and depression in the future. This may make it hard for them to get on with other people since the trauma has led them to believe that no one else is like them and they don't want to be like everyone else either. This can cause great stress which could be severe enough to cause difficulties at work or ruin their lives altogether.

5. Family Conflict

If family relationships were difficult or they were not very stable, it could lead to issues at work. This could also be caused by other issues, such as financial concerns or bullying that make this situation more stressful. People who are unable to deal with their feelings of stress may find themselves losing confidence, which can lead to a loss of confidence in their work later on in life.

6. The Holocaust

The Holocaust is a tragic event that many people want to forget about or deny because they associate the event with Nazi Germany and the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., located on the National Mall near The Lincoln Memorial. Although this is an important part of history, it is important to remember all of the people who were affected by the Holocaust. For example, many Jews were also affected by the Holocaust and lost family members as it took place.

7. Poverty

If someone has never been brought up in a safe environment, they may feel anxious in a high-stress situation like being poor or being homeless. They may feel that they don't belong and will often begin to believe that the world does not want them unless they can afford things that others do not have. This is problematic because poverty can threaten their self-worth and they could begin to lose confidence. This is especially harmful if they cannot even afford their basic needs, which makes it harder for them to focus on the job at hand.

8. Divorce

Children who have experienced a divorce may find it hard to trust anyone, even if the divorce was fairly amicable. This may cause them to believe that all relationships are bad, which can lead to problems later in life as well as ruining their careers before they start. Those who suffer from depression at a young age often develop this tendency too, so this traumas often goes hand in hand with poor mental health issues as well.

9. Recovery From A Trauma

Traumas can cause a person to develop post-traumatic stress disorder after the trauma is over. This can give them a lot of anxiety in their daily lives and make it hard for them to participate in their careers, since they are unable to calm down and focus on what they want to do. They will often feel as though they cannot trust anyone, which makes it even more dangerous for them to work.

10. Alcoholism

alcoholism. If someone is constantly stressed about money, alcohol could become a way for them to relax and distract themselves from the real problems in their life. When they are under the influence of alcohol, they may begin to lose control over their lives, depending on the amount of alcohol they drink.

It can also be hard for them to focus at work without being able to drink since they do not want to go home with no money in their pocket and nobody around that can help them. Those who develop alcoholism at an early age will continue drinking throughout their entire life, making it harder for them to recover and keep working.

In Conclusion

It is possible to overcome feelings of anxiety and depression and get on with your life. This can be accomplished by learning healthy coping strategies such as journaling, listening to music, working out a specific exercise routine, socializing with friends or family members, or getting into a hobby that helps you relax. These strategies will help you release some of the stress you have been feeling to allow you to focus better on your job.
