However, it is important to note that pre-completion OPT time is deducted from the total amount of OPT time available. For example, if a student uses 3 months of pre-completion OPT, they will have 9 months of post-completion OPT remaining.

2. Post-completion OPT: Post-completion OPT allows students to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) after they have completed their degree. To be eligible for post-completion OPT, students must apply within 60 days of their program end date and have not used more than 12 months of full-time CPT (Curricular Practical Training) during their degree program.

Post-completion OPT can be used for up to 12 months, and it must be directly related to the student's major area of study. Students are responsible for finding their own employment, and they can work for multiple employers or start their own business. However, it is important to note that post-completion OPT must be completed within 14 months of the program end date, or the student will lose their eligibility.

3. STEM OPT Extension: If you have a degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), you may be eligible for an additional 24 months of OPT after your initial 12 months. The STEM OPT extension allows students with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) to work for an additional 24 months after their initial 12 months of OPT. To be eligible for the STEM OPT extension, students must have a qualifying STEM degree and work for an employer who is enrolled in the E-Verify program.

The STEM OPT extension requires students to submit an I-983 training plan, which outlines the goals and objectives of the student's employment, as well as how the employer will provide training and oversight. Students are also required to report to their Designated School Official (DSO) every six months and to submit an annual self-evaluation of their progress.

Eligibilities of OPT:

If you wish to obtain an OPT job in the USA, you should meet the following requirements:

1. Student should be have F-1 Visa and have been enrolled in a full-time degree program for at least one academic year.

2. You must apply for OPT before you graduate or within 60 days of your graduation date.
