Where Friendship Leads and Students Shine: Life at The Islamic International School & College System, Hajiabad
In the busy town of Hajiabad, right between tradition and modern education, there's a school that's more than just a place to learn.
The Islamic International School & College System (IIS&CS) is a place where learning meets community, and where friendships, values, and dreams are formed as much as books and exams.
For years, IIS&CS has been a place where students are not only taught but also supported — spiritually, emotionally, and smartly.
It's like a second home for many people, and for three of us — Waqas, Rehan, and me, Ishfaq — it became the place where we created some of our best memories.
I was the Director of Sports, Waqas was Vice Principal, and Rehan worked as Chief Proctor.
We were more than just workmates — we were like brothers. Our bond grew not only from shared jobs but also from a shared dream: to make a school where every student can do their best.
Even though I have moved to Saudi Arabia for my job, Waqas and Rehan continue to work with the same strong commitment.
Our friendship is still as strong as ever, and our goal to help shape the school's future remains unchanged.
Building Bonds Through Cricket
One of our most special traditions was our Friday cricket matches.
These weren’t just games — they were big competitions between teachers and students that brought everyone at the school together. With lots of laughter, friendly competition, and sometimes even broken windows, these afternoons showed everything we believed in: coming together, healthy play, and shared happiness.
Once, the Principal smiled after a strong shot broke a window.
Waqas said, “At least they’re hitting straight now,” and laughter filled the field. These moments, even though funny, really helped build trust and create strong relationships beyond the classroom.
Celebrating Faith and Culture
IIS&CS is built on Islamic values and cultural pride.
During Ramadan, the school changes. Iftar gatherings become a big part of the month, where teachers and students break their fast together in a warm and connected atmosphere. These gatherings are more than just religious — they are moments of deep human connection.
The joy continues into Eid, where the school comes alive with color, music, and taste.
Students set up stalls, wear traditional clothes, and perform songs and plays. This celebration shows what the school is all about: a place where faith, culture, and youth come together beautifully.
Embracing Diversity Through Culture and Science
Another important part of life at IIS&CS is our Cultural Day — a lively show of Pakistan’s many traditions.
Students proudly share their region's culture through clothes, poems, food, and performances. It's a day where identity is celebrated and students learn to appreciate the rich variety of their country.
Equally important is the annual Science & Innovation Exhibition.
Here, imagination meets knowledge as students show off projects from working models to robot creations. Rehan and Waqas usually led the academic side, while I managed the energy and excitement. The event celebrates curiosity and creativity — a look at the future in the hands of young minds.
The Spirit of Sports
For me, the highlight of the school year was always the Annual Sports Gala.
From the flag-raising ceremony to the final race of the day, it's an event full of energy, pride, and school spirit. Students take part in track events, football games, and fun activities, while staff often join in — especially for the popular tug-of-war.
What makes the Gala special is watching students, especially the quieter ones, find their confidence.
Many discover their voice on the field — learning teamwork, discipline, and leadership in ways textbooks can't teach.
More Than Educators
What makes IIS&CS special is the deep care that goes beyond just teaching.
Teachers aren't just instructors — they are mentors, guides, and sometimes lifelong role models. As a team, we often stayed late to plan events, solve problems, or simply talk about how to help a student in need. We sometimes had disagreements, but always ended up with tea, laughter, and renewed focus on what really matters: the students.
Even after I moved to Saudi Arabia, our shared mission hasn't faded.
We still talk, share news, and cheer for every success the school achieves. It's a reminder that real educational impact goes beyond classroom walls and time zones.
A Legacy of Friendship and Purpose
At The Islamic International School & College System, learning is more than just studying.
It's part of everyday life at the school — from the rhythm of a cricket match to the songs of a nasheed, from the quiet of prayer to the loud finish of a sprint.
At its heart, IIS&CS thrives because of the care and dedication of its people.
And at the center of that dedication is something simple yet powerful: friendship.
Three friends.
One dream. And a legacy of students who don't just study — but shine.
