.Introduction
Southern California has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With miles upon miles of sandy shores and endless options for activities, it's easy to see why people flock to this sunny region year-round. However, not all of these beaches are created equal--you need to know what kind of beach you're going for before planning your trip! Here are some tips for finding the right one:
Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach is a city in Orange County, California. Located on Orange County's south-facing coast, it extends from the Santa Ana Mountains to Dana Point Harbor and encompasses roughly 1.2 million people. Huntington Beach is known for its long 11-mile stretch of sandy beach, mild climate, excellent surfing conditions and its location within the "Surf City" region as well as being home to many famous surfers including Laird Hamilton who was born there.
Manhattan Beach
Manhattan Beach is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, on the Pacific coast south of El Segundo and north of Hermosa Beach. The population was 19,506 at the 2010 census.
The neighborhood consists mostly of single-family residences but includes some commercial zones as well as two major shopping centers: Manhattan Center (the former site of an airport) and Manhattan Plaza (also formerly known as "Manhattan Shopping Center").
The main thoroughfare through this area is Manhattan Beach Boulevard (State Route 1), which runs along its length through town from Palos Verdes Peninsula to Redondo Beach via Torrance and Hermosa Beaches; it also connects with Interstate 405 by way of Sepulveda Boulevard after crossing over San Vicente Creek above Sunset Junction (where SR 1 merges with Interstate 110).
Venice Beach
Venice Beach is a beach town in Los Angeles County, California. It was an oceanside fishing village until the 1920s when the Hughes Company built a grand amusement park on the site of what was then called "Redondo Beach" (a reference to its red sand).
The surrounding communities of Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes Estates have grown around Venice as well as several others including Playa del Rey and Marina Del Rey. The median household income was $67,000 as of 2017 according to US Census Bureau data.[1]

It is known for its Mediterranean climate and its famous 21-mile (34 km) strip of prime beaches and oceanfront properties. Malibu has been described as "the Queen of the Coast" by Los Angeles Times columnist Patrick Goldstein due to its long history as one of California's most popular vacation destinations for residents from other parts of Southern California as well as visitors from around the world who come here during high season (from May through October).
Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach is a coastal city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 31,749 at the 2010 census. The city's name derives from the Spanish word "redondo," meaning "round".
It is located on 4 miles (6 km) of protected shores amid the South Bay metropolis of Los Angeles County, with some beachfront properties reaching as far north as Manhattan Beach to its south-west border. Its southern boundary is formed by Interstate 405 and Interstate 110 (Sunset Blvd) which form a loop around much of this section making it easy to reach anywhere within minutes via car or public transportation (Metro Rail).
The primary shopping area near the Redondo Pier lies between Lincoln Avenue and Harbor Drive near the pier itself leading into downtown Long Beach just westward along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). There are also many restaurants within walking distance which makes it an ideal place for tourists looking for something different while vacationing here in Southern California
