Time Traveler

Time Traveling

By Ali HamzaPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

In the year 2135, time travel was not only possible but had become a profitable business. However, only a handful of people were allowed to use this technology due to the dangers it posed to the timeline. One of these people was a woman named Lily, a historian who was given the chance to travel back in time and witness historical events firsthand.

Lily was assigned to go back to the year 1944, during the height of World War II, to witness the D-Day invasion in Normandy. Her mission was to observe and gather information for future historical research. However, Lily had always been fascinated by the idea of altering history, and she couldn't resist the temptation to try and change the course of events.

As soon as she arrived in 1944, Lily knew she had to be careful. She dressed in the fashion of the time and blended in with the locals. She quickly found herself in the midst of the war, watching the soldiers prepare for the invasion.

Lily's plan was simple: she was going to assassinate Adolf Hitler before the D-Day invasion could take place. She had brought a small gun with her, and she knew exactly where Hitler was going to be on June 6, 1944.

As the days went by, Lily became more and more confident in her plan. She scouted out the location where Hitler would be and memorized every detail. However, she soon realized that she had underestimated the complexities of altering history.

On the morning of June 6, 1944, Lily made her way to the location where Hitler was supposed to be. She waited anxiously, scanning the crowd for any sign of him. Suddenly, she spotted him walking down the street, surrounded by his bodyguards.

Lily's heart raced as she pulled out her gun and took aim. However, just as she was about to pull the trigger, she was tackled to the ground by one of Hitler's bodyguards. The gun flew out of her hand, and she was quickly overpowered and taken into custody.

Lily was thrown into a small cell, where she was interrogated by the Gestapo. They demanded to know who she was and why she had come to Germany. Lily tried to play it cool, pretending to be a lost tourist, but they didn't believe her.

Days turned into weeks, and Lily was subjected to torture and interrogation. She realized too late that her plan to alter history had been foolish and dangerous. She had put her own life at risk, as well as the lives of countless others.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Lily was released from her cell. She was told that she was being deported back to her own time, and that she was lucky to be alive. Lily was filled with shame and regret as she was escorted back to the time machine.

As she traveled back to the year 2135, Lily couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if she had succeeded in her mission. Would the world be a better place? Would the war have ended sooner? Or would her actions have caused even more harm and destruction?

Lily realized that altering history was not something to be taken lightly. The consequences could be catastrophic, and the risks far outweighed any potential benefits. She vowed never to attempt to alter history again, and to focus instead on documenting and preserving the past for future generations.

When Lily returned to her own time, she found herself a changed woman. She had a newfound appreciation for the fragility of the timeline, and she spent the rest of her life dedicated to ensuring that history was accurately recorded and preserved. She had learned the hard way that the past should be left alone, and that the future was better off in the hands of those who could learn from it.
