Historical Traveling

By Mukarram HussainPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

As a time traveller, Sarah had been to many different eras and witnessed countless historic events. However, she had always been an observer, never interfering with the timeline. But one day, she received a mission that would change everything.

Sarah was tasked with altering the outcome of the Battle of Waterloo, a pivotal moment in European history that saw Napoleon Bonaparte defeated and exiled to Saint Helena. Her orders were to ensure that Napoleon won the battle and thus changed the course of history.

At first, Sarah was hesitant. She had always believed that changing the past could have disastrous consequences for the present and future. But her superiors had assured her that altering the outcome of the Battle of Waterloo would not cause any significant changes to the timeline, as long as she did it carefully and strategically.

Sarah was sent back to the year 1815, just before the battle was about to take place. She arrived in a small village outside of Brussels, where the British and allied forces were preparing to fight against the French army led by Napoleon.

Sarah spent the first few days gathering information and studying the battle plans of both sides. She knew that altering the outcome of the battle would not be easy. The British and allied forces were well-equipped and had a strong defensive position, while Napoleon's army was already weakened from previous battles.

Sarah knew that she had to find a way to weaken the British forces and strengthen Napoleon's army. She decided to go undercover as a servant in the British camp, hoping to gather information that would help her in her mission.

As a servant, Sarah was able to move freely around the camp and listen in on important conversations. She soon discovered that the British had a secret weapon - a new type of rifle that was much more accurate and had a longer range than the French muskets.

Sarah knew that she had to get her hands on one of these rifles and take it to Napoleon's army. She stole one of the rifles and made her way to the French camp. She presented the rifle to Napoleon, who was impressed with its capabilities.

Napoleon ordered his engineers to study the rifle and develop a similar weapon for his army. Sarah had succeeded in strengthening Napoleon's army, but she knew that it would take more than just a new weapon to win the battle.

Sarah spent the next few days trying to find other ways to weaken the British forces. She found out that the Duke of Wellington, the commander of the British forces, had stationed most of his troops in the center of the battlefield, leaving his flanks vulnerable.

Sarah knew that if she could convince Napoleon to attack the British flanks, he would have a better chance of winning the battle. She convinced Napoleon to change his battle plans and attack the British flanks.

The battle was fierce and brutal. Sarah watched from a distance as the French and British forces clashed. She could hear the sounds of gunfire and the cries of the wounded and dying.

As the battle raged on, Sarah began to doubt whether she had done the right thing. She had always believed that changing the past was a dangerous game, and now she was in the middle of it. She wondered what the consequences of her actions would be.

But Sarah's doubts were quickly dispelled when she saw Napoleon's forces begin to gain ground. The attack on the flanks had caught the British by surprise, and they were struggling to defend themselves.

The battle continued for several more hours, but it was clear that Napoleon's forces had the upper hand. The British forces were forced to retreat, and Napoleon emerged victorious.

Sarah felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had done what she was sent to do, and Napoleon had won the Battle of Waterloo. But as she prepared to return to her own time, she began to wonder what the consequences of her actions would.
