The Secret Place: Power in His Presence!
In this dark and fearful world, safety is not found in money, politics, or even religious activity. It is found only in the **secret place of His presence.** That is where fear dies, healing flows, and true power is revealed.
The Secret Place: Power in His Presence
Now, may I have your attention? Listen carefully. Much of what we do as Christians is often in the flesh, yet we label it “spiritual.” But fleshly activity, no matter how religious, produces no life. Let me make a bold statement: **there is no power in prayer itself.**
That may shock you, but think about it. Muslims pray. Hindus pray. Religious people everywhere pray. If prayer alone carried power, their lives would be transformed. Yet many remain bound because power does not reside in prayer—it resides in the presence of Jesus. When we commune with Him, there is power. Without His presence, prayer is only words.
This is why the heart of our walk with God must be the **practice of His presence.** That is the true source of strength and transformation.
Faith That Denies Facts Is Flesh
Years ago in Denver, I met a woman. The Lord revealed she had cancer. She denied it repeatedly, until she broke down in tears saying, “I was told never to confess it.” That is the tragedy of fleshly faith. True faith does not deny fact; it brings facts into the light of God’s truth. The blind man told Jesus, “I am blind,” and received sight. Flesh denies reality. Spirit faces reality, then brings God’s power into it.
Flesh Produces No Results
This is why many believers pray, fast, and praise with little fruit. In the flesh, prayer is exhausting repetition. Fasting is starvation. Praise is noise. But in the **realm of the Spirit,** everything changes. That is the realm where devils tremble, healing flows, and burdens lift. Even the name of Jesus, without the Spirit, produces nothing. I witnessed demons resist when His name was spoken without power, but flee instantly when the Spirit was present.
Only the Spirit Draws Us In
Here lies a mystery: **you cannot seek the Lord unless He first seeks you.** David wrote, “Quicken me, and then I will call upon your name” (Psalm 80:18). The Song of Solomon declares, “Draw me, and I will run after you.” Too often we try to switch on spiritual engines ourselves. But flesh cannot enter the Spirit’s realm. We must be drawn in by stillness, by surrender, by waiting upon the Lord.
The Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God.” Stillness is not silence alone—it is the quieting of the inner man until His Spirit quickens us. At that moment, Jesus becomes more real than disease, sin, or fear. When He becomes more real than our circumstances, healing and transformation flow naturally.
The Roadmap Into God’s Presence
Moses was given the pattern of the tabernacle as a roadmap into the secret place. At the gate, Jesus becomes real. At the altar, the cross and His blood cleanse us. At the laver, the Word washes us. At the lampstand, His will is revealed. At the table of showbread, we surrender our bodies as living sacrifices. At the altar of incense, worship becomes intimate union with Christ. And finally, beyond the veil, the Ark of the Covenant—the glory, the secret place itself.
He that **dwells** in the secret place, not visits, abides under the shadow of the Almighty. That becomes his address, his home. There, no sickness or plague can touch him. There, his vessel carries God’s glory into the world.
The Call Today
I once watched Katherine Kuhlman walk onto a stage without speaking, and healings broke out. Why? Because she lived in that secret place. God’s presence clothed her. When you dwell there, your presence becomes His presence.
So, beloved, do not settle for empty religion. Do not tire yourself in fleshly efforts. Wait upon the Lord. Be still. Let Him quicken you. And when He does, you will discover the reality that changes everything: *Jesus Himself is the power. His presence is the secret place.*
