By Teddy DuranPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

The history of the Rothschilds began in Frankfurt, Germany in the mid-1700s when Meyer M. Shell was born into a family of money changers. He became a successful banker himself and sent his five sons to different European financial centers for business. Wars were critical turning points for the Rothschilds, as they lent funds to warring princes and princesses. They also became involved in trade of important colonial produce, such as wheat, cotton, and arms. With their diversified investments and expansive networks, the Rothschilds were able to capitalize on new opportunities as the economy changed. Maya Rothschild is one of five children of Mayer and Sarah Mayer Rothschild. She inherited a fortune from her parents and is currently one of the richest women in the world.
