The Journey to Danaa School

A Story of Connection and Culture

The idea for Danaa School was born from a simple observation and a deep sense of purpose. For me, the journey began in 2014 when I moved from London to Vienna to get married. As I settled into my new life, I started to notice something significant about the Iranian communities living there. While many major cities like London, Vienna, and Frankfurt had established schools and cultural centers, Iranians in smaller towns often lacked access to these resources. Their children had limited opportunities to learn Persian, connect with their heritage, or study Persian literature.

I saw a gap and a need that was not being met. I realized that a physical school, bound by location and time, wasn't the solution. The answer lay in a new approach—one that could reach families no matter where they were. I asked myself, "How can I make this easy for them?" The answer was clear: an online platform.

This wasn't just about creating a business; it was about building a bridge. I wanted to help Iranian families, especially the next generation, stay connected to their roots. I envisioned a platform where a child in a small European town could learn the beautiful poems of Hafez, just like a child in Tehran. I wanted to create a space where Persian language and culture were not just subjects but a living, breathing part of their lives.

Building Danaa School from the ground up has been an incredible journey. Every day is a new challenge and a new reward. My days are filled with planning lessons, connecting with dedicated instructors, and hearing stories from our students and their parents. It's a mix of logistical work, like scheduling one-on-one and group classes, and the deeply personal joy of seeing a student confidently read their first Persian book.

My mornings often begin with reviewing student progress and coordinating with our teachers, who are the heart of the school. In the afternoons, I might be meeting with parents to understand their needs or working on expanding our curriculum to include new literature or cultural topics. The evenings are sometimes reserved for group sessions, where I can witness firsthand the vibrant conversations and shared laughter that happen in our virtual classrooms.

The goal has always been to make Persian language and culture accessible and affordable. We've worked hard to keep our prices low and our schedules flexible, ensuring that Danaa School can be a realistic option for any family. We believe that preserving one's cultural identity shouldn't be a luxury.

Looking back, the move to Vienna was more than just a life change—it was the spark that ignited Danaa School. It's a daily reminder that every day, we're not just teaching a language; we're helping to keep a rich and ancient culture alive, one student at a time. The work is challenging, but the reward of seeing a community thrive, connected by language and heritage, makes every single day worth it.

Danaa School is more than just an online learning platform—it is a community built to connect Persian-speaking families across the globe with their cultural roots. Founded with the vision of preserving language and heritage for future generations, Danaa offers carefully designed programs in Persian language, literature, storytelling, music, and creative arts. Its greatest strength lies in its tailored approach: unlike general tools such as Zoom or WhatsApp, Danaa provides a fully dedicated platform with integrated features like cloud-based homework sharing, whiteboards, and secure classrooms that make learning seamless and engaging.

The platform benefits both learners and teachers. For students, it creates an interactive, supportive environment that fosters creativity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Children of Persian-speaking expatriates, who often grow up distanced from their heritage, gain access to structured and inspiring lessons that keep their cultural identity alive. For parents, it saves time and offers peace of mind knowing their children are learning from certified and experienced teachers such as Dr. Mahmoud Kavir and Leili Rashidi.

For teachers, Danaa provides a professional space to reach a wider audience, share knowledge, and grow their impact beyond borders. Ultimately, Danaa School is a bridge—connecting cultures, generations, and communities through education and creativity.
