The child and the bottle filled with chestnuts
Knowing what to do

There was a child who found a jar full of delicious chestnuts. His eyes lit up, his mouth watered, and he wanted to taste those delicious chestnuts very much. So, without hesitation, he put his hand into the bottle.
He grabbed a large handful of chestnuts with great anticipation, but when he tried to pull his hand out, he found his hand was stuck in the mouth of the bottle, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't pull his hand out.
The child felt panicked and helpless, and he became frightened. He twisted his wrist desperately in an attempt to get his hand out of the way, but all was in vain. In desperation, he began to cry out loud.
A passer-by saw the child's plight and approached him, asking him what had happened. The child sobbed and told him that he wanted to eat a chestnut, but his hand was stuck in the bottle and he could not take it out.
The passerby smiled and said to the child, "You know what, child? If you had taken half less chestnuts, your hand would have easily gotten out of the mouth of the bottle. Be content with what you have."
When the child heard these words, he looked up, and his eyes revealed doubt and disbelief. He asked, "Why should I take less chestnuts? I just want to eat more delicious chestnuts."
The passer-by gently explained, "Son, you are taking too many chestnuts and getting your hand stuck. If you take only half of the chestnuts, your hand can easily get out of the bottle and leave freely. To know contentment is to be content with what you have and not to be insatiable."
The child listened quietly to the passerby's words, and he began to understand the truth of them. He realized that his greed and desire had gotten him into trouble, and that being content and satisfied with what he had could bring relief and freedom.
Slowly, the child calmed down and he decided to put down some of the chestnuts. He carefully took out some of the chestnuts so that his hand could easily detach itself from the mouth of the bottle. When his hand was finally free, he felt a sense of relief and release, and at the same time experienced the wisdom of contentment.
From that moment on, the child understood the true meaning of contentment. He experienced the freedom and peace that comes from letting go of desire and greed.
He looked up at the passerby and said gratefully, "Thank you for teaching me the lesson of contentment. I have learned that having too much does not mean happiness, but can lead us to bind ourselves. From now on, I will be more content with what I have and will not pursue endless desires."
The passerby smiled, nodded, and said encouragingly, "Son, you have taken a step in the right direction. Contentment is a wisdom that allows us to have inner peace and contentment in any situation. Remember this lesson, it will stay with you for the rest of your life."
The child gratefully said goodbye to the passerby and continued his journey. He was no longer plagued by greed and lust, but faced the challenges of life with a contented heart.
Since then, the child has grown into a person who knows how to appreciate and be content. He shares his story, telling others the importance of contentment and encouraging others to pursue inner peace and contentment.
The story of this child spread throughout the village and became a fable that was passed down from mouth to mouth. Whenever someone greedily pursued endless desires, they would remember the story of the child stuck in the bottle and understand the wisdom and relief of contentment.
The meaning of this story transcends personal experience; it becomes a parable about the wisdom of life and human nature, guiding people to pursue inner peace and contentment, as well as to understand the importance of letting go of desire and greed.
