Whenever the memories of school days come rushing back, my mind unknowingly drifts into the past. Faces from those days flash in front of my eyes, the same enthusiasm resurfaces, and as time moves forward, those memories become even more vivid. One of those unforgettable events is the school reunion! It stands as the pinnacle of joy, excitement, and affection in school life!

The mere mention of the word ‘reunion’ sends a shiver down the spine. The first day when the headmaster announces the reunion, the whole school comes alive with a different kind of energy. The classrooms buzz with discussions about who will sing, who will dance, and who will perform a comedic skit. Some students have already begun preparing in secret, some writing scripts, others searching for the perfect songs for their dance routines, and some are even considering their costumes for the event.

The idea of standing on the stage for the first time feels like a huge dream. Hands tremble, words stumble, but just then, someone places a reassuring hand on the shoulder and says, "You’ll do great, don’t worry!" Those words unknowingly fill you with confidence.

As the reunion preparations kick off, the entire school begins to sparkle. Where lessons were once taught, now the sounds of songs fill the air. On the playground, instead of students running, groups can be seen practicing dance moves. There’s a special glow on everyone’s faces. Even the teachers get involved, offering guidance like, “Raise your voice a little more, add more expression to your gestures!” Their aim is to help their students shine even brighter.

Finally, the big day arrives! The school grounds are decorated with vibrant flowers. Banners hang from every corner, and flower garlands shine in the sunlight. The students, dressed in their finest clothes, look completely different, brimming with excitement. There's a unique kind of joy on each face.

The program begins, and the first performance receives a thunderous round of applause. One by one, the talents of the students unfold. The boy who sings is so immersed in his performance that the entire atmosphere is filled with his melody. The dancers become one with the rhythm, and their performance radiates such energy that the audience can't help but feel the same joy. A comedic act follows, and the hall is filled with laughter. Then comes a patriotic drama, which leaves the audience in stunned silence, momentarily reflecting on the power of unity and pride.

Some of the students are performing on stage for the first time. Their hands tremble with nervousness, but the applause from their friends builds their confidence. In those moments, there is no competition, no rivalry—everyone is there for the same reason: to experience joy!

As the event draws to a close, there’s a sense of bittersweetness in the air. Sitting with friends in the evening, chatting about the day, you realize that such a day will never come again. "Tomorrow, school will start again, with more lessons, and the same routine…" the thought crosses the mind. Yet, even in that moment, amidst the laughter, you unknowingly feel a tear roll down your cheek.

Years later, when I think back to that day, I find myself lost in those memories once again. Somewhere, I hear the sound of a whistle, somewhere, I hear the applause, and I think to myself... “When will those days come back again?”
