# What is Reservation ?

** The purpose of Reservation is Provided Social Justice to the disadvantage , oppressed and backward classes .

Under , Some Places are Reserved for socially , educationally and economically Weaker Section , keeping them separate from the general Competition areas of public important .

The rules of public competition are Relaxed to Ensure the Success and Representation of the people of these classes .

# Why Reservation ?

** The Indian Constitution Provide for Reservation of minorities , backward classes , scheduled castes and schedule d tribes .

Such a system was necessary become some sections of society were separated from the mainstream due to social system ( due to birth - based varna system )

# No other country has Reservation on caste basic ?

Many times it is argued that these is no system like reservation in any other country of the world , especially on caste - based basis , So Why reservation has been given on caste - basis in India ?

** The biggest reason behind this is the historical background of india .

Actually , there was no prevalence of based social system in any country of the world .

Mainstream in India finds mention of four varnas namely Brahman , kshatriya , vaishnav and Shudra , along with a clear division of their function .

Infact in India , this social system has gained Religious ground and system has been going on since ancient time to the present . This is why the concept of Reservation has been adopted in India .

# Sholud Reservation be on economic basic ?

** But the 103rd Constitution Amendment Act provided for 10 percent Reservation for the economically backward classes , which was also approved by the S.C. from the point of view of sociology , there is no concept like Reservation one economic basic .

But in the India , this arrangement has been made to strengthen the efforts of poverty alleviation and bring the economically backward classes into the mainstream of society .

# Why the different backward classes also have the benifit of Reservation ?

** It also argued that the backward classes especially from SC and ST , who have taken the prestigious public post by taking the benifit of Reservation , should be excluded from the parview of Reservation however , this Concept has been adopted as creamy Layer towards other backward classes .

But this argument is not justified because if a person is financially prosperous then it dose not mean that he will not be discriminated on social and caste grounds .

Economic prosperity is not a measure of social equality . The biggest example of this the discrimination with President Ram Nath Kovind at Puri temple in odisha on March 18 , 2018 .

The temple priests raised strong objection to the President entry into the temple , as the President comes for the depressed class .

Earlier , on 25 June 2011 , National Scheduled Caste and Tribes Commission of India Chairman P.L Puniya was barred from entering a prestigious temple in Rangpur , odisha .

But when P.L Puniya entered the temple and worshipped with the help of administration , after he left the temple was washed with Ganges Water and purified The Priests of the temple clearly stated that Puniya a special Section of society comes , whose entry into the temple is forbidden and their entry has polluted the temple .

When individuals occupying key constitutions positions can be discrimination against on caste grounds , the what would be the status of the common man from the dalit class I. the society can be imagined .

# Argument in favor of Reservation .

** • For the development of a Justice - based social system .

• To include the weaker and backward sections of the society in the mainstream of society .

• Representation of all sections of society is necessary in democracy .

# Argument against Reservation .

• Against the principal of social justice because social justice is based on equality while Reservation is based on the principal of unequal conduce .

• Others Reason .

# Should Reservation be abolished ?

** Many people argue that the Reservation was initially for 10 years in the constitution but later it has continuously extended till now .

There is no need for Reservation , it should be abolished .

Therefore the constitution of Reservation is necessary until the bonds of social order are relaxed .

Every central government also support this view . Concept like dignity of the person describe in the preamble of the indian constitution are also inspired by sentiments . Reservation should be considered an evil weaker backward sections of society have definitely moved a head with Reservation .
