Reimagining the Divine Algorithm
Understanding transcendental nature of the Divine through the existing patterns in the Universe.
In the realm of Mathematics, patterns are the most fundamental and underlying principle. Mathematicians strive to identify, evaluate, and comprehend the underlying patterns in order to overcome obstacles, establish mathematical certainties and bring order to complex systems so that their behavior can be understood, predicted, and described. Everything in the universe has a specific pattern. In fact, the universe itself appears to be governed by an intricate web of patterns and rhythms. The recognition of patterns and rhythms in the universe has profound implications for our understanding of reality. The theory suggests that the entire universe, far from being complete pandemonium or an arbitrary expanse, reveals itself to be a harmonious and meticulously organized system.
The mechanism of everything in this universe follows a unique pattern. For instances, the eight planets in the universe follow a unique pattern, revolving around the sun completing a full rotation in a particular time. The gravitational force, electromagnetic force and tidal force are so specific and calculated that even a tiny alteration would end up in a complete devastation. The entire medical science is dependent upon patterns, in order to understand the complexities of human body, diagnose diseases, and develop treatments. Without understanding the patterns, diagnosis would have been impossible, it would have been merely a guesswork.
It is very interesting to see that the petals of every flower follow a mathematical series, known as Fibonacci series. Bee hives have a particular geometrical shape which is hexagonal. When many bubbles get pushed together on the surface of water, they also take the shape of hexagons. It is amazing to see how the spiders are able to weave their webs of the shape of circle with near-equal-distanced radical supports.
Human beings always looked at the nature in search of patterns. Looking at the stars a pattern was discovered we call it ‘constellation’. Even coming to believe that they control our destiny, we watch day turns to night and back to day, and seasons as they come and go, we call that pattern ‘Time.’ We see symmetrical pattern in human body and tiger’s stripes too. Music is an art and a form of expressing emotions through particular variation of frequencies. The entire field of Music dependents upon counting, rhythm, and patterns.

In Rig Veda, Rta is the order of the universe, which is the basis of all creation. It is a pattern, that synthesises natural and moral order, and eternal principles that govern the universe, guiding how all living things should behave. Analysing this pattern helps us to understand the harmony and order present in the universe. It also inspires individuals to live in a way that respects nature, and to be truthful, peaceful, and self-disciplined. Whether it's the periodic table, where elements are arranged in harmonious and systematic ways, or the principles of Rta governing the entire universe, both exhibit a repeated pattern, unravelling the Reality.
Vatican II documents provide guidance and wisdom for living a Christian life, a pattern of life that reflects Christian value and principles. The document Gaudium et Spes sets a mark for Christian life as a journey, emphasizing the importance of ongoing conversion, growth, and development. It stresses the importance of understanding the world and its complexities. The invitation for reimaging, rediscovering, and renewing is to explore new ways of understanding and interpreting the word the God in light of the modern context. The Council encourages individuals to recognize the enduring patterns of God's presence and action in the world. Perhaps, for us the greatest challenge would be, in the darkest depths of human struggle, where shadows of fear and threads of war, conflict, and violence wrapped up in poverty and injustice, can we discover a pattern that reveals God’s presence, a pattern of harmony that pervades the chaos?
While human intellect may never fully comprehend the transcendent nature of God, we can, however, have glimpses of the divine through the existing patterns and rhythms in the universe. John Lennox, a prominent Christian apologist and mathematician, argues in his book 'Has Science Buried God?' that the complexity of the universe is not evidence against God, but rather evidence for God, revealing a creator who is far more intelligent and powerful than we are. Ultimately, discovering of patterns in the universe has the power to transform our understanding of reality. This discovery profoundly shifts our perspective to a deeper sense of harmony and order perceived in the nature, and makes the hidden presence of God in everything more apparent.
