Solution 1: Install a Digital Signature Certificate to resolve the QuickBooks Error 15311
The steps to install the digital signature certificate are as follows:
First, open the Start menu and search for QBW32.exe in the search bar.
Then, click on the Computer icon on the screen that appears next.
Find the QBW.exe option in the search results, right click on it and go to its Properties option.
Now, you have to click on the Digital Signature option and make sure that Intuit Inc is checked in the list.
Next, click Details and choose View Certificate in the Digital Signature Details window.
Then, click on the Install Certificate option.
Next, simply follow the on-screen instructions until you see and hit the Finish button.
For the last step, restart your system.
Solution 2: Run Reboot.bat Batch File to Reregister QuickBooks Files and resolve the QuickBooks Error 15311
A batch file called Reboot.bat helps QuickBooks in re-registering .OCX and DLL files. These files are used by QuickBooks Desktop to carry out a number of tasks.
First, close the QB Dekstop application if you are running it on Windows.
Then click right on the QB icon on your system adn select the Properties section.
Next, hit on the Open File Location and open the QuickBooks installation folder.
Here, you need to make sure that the Windows Hidden Files and Folders are set to display.
Now, locate and click right on the Reboot.bat file and Run as Administrator.
Then, wait till the Reboot file reregisters all the QuickBooks files.
Once, it is done, it will automatically disappear a black color command prompt window, then try to Update QB Desktop application.
