**Part 2: Putting on the Armor of God for Permanent Victory**

In Part 1, we saw that spiritual battles are not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers that influence territories and lives. We also learned that without the armor of God, no believer can stand. Now, let us consider how to put on this armor and use it effectively to walk in permanent victory.

**1. The Belt of Truth**

Ephesians 6:14 says, *“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth.”* Truth is foundational. Just as a belt holds the rest of the armor together, truth holds your life together. Truth means living in integrity, embracing God’s Word as final authority, and refusing to walk in lies or deception.

To put on truth is to daily confess and live according to what God says, not what the world or the devil whispers. Jesus said in John 8:32, *“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”*

### **2. The Breastplate of Righteousness**

Still in verse 14, Paul says, *“Having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”* Righteousness protects your heart, just as a breastplate protects vital organs. This is not self-righteousness but the righteousness of Christ, given to us through faith (2 Corinthians 5:21).

To put this on, you must walk daily in obedience to God, rejecting sin, and relying on the grace of Christ. A righteous life silences the accusations of the enemy.

**3. The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace**

Ephesians 6:15 says, *“And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”* Shoes give stability and readiness. The gospel equips you to stand firm and also to move forward with confidence.

Wearing these shoes means being ready to share your faith, live at peace with others, and walk in the assurance that you are reconciled to God. Peace in your heart makes you unshakable in battle.

**4. The Shield of Faith**

In verse 16, Paul declares, *“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”* Faith is your defense against fear, doubt, and lies.

The enemy will throw darts—accusations, discouragements, temptations—but faith in God’s promises extinguishes them. Romans 10:17 says, *“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”* Strengthen your shield by staying in the Word and declaring it boldly.

**5. The Helmet of Salvation**

Verse 17 says, *“And take the helmet of salvation.”* The helmet protects the head, your mind. Many battles are won or lost in your thoughts. Salvation secures your identity in Christ.

To wear this helmet is to remind yourself daily: “I am saved, forgiven, loved, and redeemed.” When the enemy whispers lies of condemnation or fear, the helmet guards your mind with the truth of your salvation.

**6. The Sword of the Spirit**

Paul continues in verse 17, *“And the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”* This is the only offensive weapon in the armor. The Word of God cuts down lies and defeats the enemy.

Jesus used this weapon in Matthew 4 when tempted by Satan, declaring, *“It is written.”* To wield this sword effectively, you must know Scripture, speak it, and apply it in your daily battles.

**7. Prayer: The Power Behind the Armor**

Finally, in verse 18, Paul says, *“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.”* Prayer activates and sustains the armor. Without prayer, the armor is lifeless. Prayer keeps you connected to the Commander of Heaven’s army, giving you direction and strength.

**Living in Victory**

The armor of God is not to be worn occasionally—it must be your daily lifestyle. Spiritual battles will come, but with the armor, you are guaranteed victory. Remember, the devil is not afraid of human strength, but he trembles at a believer clothed in God’s armor, standing firm in faith.

In my opinion, the secret to permanent victory is consistency—putting on the armor every day, keeping your eyes on Christ, and confessing His Word boldly. If you stay clothed, no principality, power, or ruler of darkness can overcome you.
