PARTS OF SPEECH – AN INTRODUCTION TO NOUN

Noun

A noun is a naming word. A noun is the name of a person, place, thing or an idea.

Examples

Selvi, Ravi, Vignesh, Sivakasi, India, World, umbrella, television, computer, beauty, neatness, conduct etc.,

PARTS OF SPEECH - NOUNS - TYPES OF NOUNS

We know that there are 8 parts of speech in U.K based English grammar. They are noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction and interjection. A noun is a naming word. A noun is the name of a person, place, thing or an idea. There are 5 kinds of nouns. They are proper noun, common noun, collective noun, material noun and abstract noun.

We use language for communicating our ideas and thought to others using a language. We use words to express our ideas. The words are used in a perfect order in complete sentences.
