My life as a little girl growing in the south was simple and fun at most times of my life. I remember when I got off the school bus from school, I ran through the cornfield and stood there like I’m in the jungle, looking for treasures to bring back home to my mother and grandmother. Or playing with my cousins until nightfall and when it was dark and stars filled the sky like on my favorite blanket and we laid on our backs on the grass and tried to count the stars, it was too many to count that night. I often reminisce back of those good old days back when I was a child. As an adult now, wishing those days back is a faded dream.

Learning about how children grow, learn and explore the world in their own special way is truly fascinating for me, thus made me change major to early childhood studies and from the good experiences from my classes, make me more want to learn about and I’m interested the field of special needs children because my brother is a special needs adult and I help take care of him at home. How I would use this information to help parents and understand how kids are the way there are because of these reasons that children go through.

I chose my major as early childhood education because I was inspired by my mom, she went to school and became a teacher and for the last 20 years, she has been teaching our children about the world around them and how to understand it better. She took her time with each of her students and made an impact in their lives that they are still thanking her today, I want to carry on her legacy. As educators, we can change our world by one child at time, then that child will grow up and change the world even further and make it a better place and brighter future for the generations to come.

I’m hardworking, diligent and resourceful in my work, I’m a people person that know how to get along with others and work well with others.

One of my philosophies is striving for the best in yourself and in your life. Sometimes we lose self motivation of each other and in ourselves as well, but that's ok. My low point in my life when I became homeless for the first time in my life in California, it was life-terrifying. I had no place to go, but I kept my head above high and a lot of people helped me and my family through our hard time. At the time in my life , I truly understood about never giving up on yourself and about real gratefulness. Everyone has a low point in their lives, but that should never hinder you from giving up on yourself because you couldn't get the dream house you wanted for many years or that dream job that you worked so hard for. Is nothing wrong having high expectations of yourself, just work hard and believe in yourself.

Writing became my other passion during middle school and high school. It was my outlet to let my feelings and emotions out on paper and with the stroke of my pen and it has helped me cope with the tragic events that happened during my senior year of high school. One of my personal achievements I did before my senior year ended, I wrote my first novel called “ The Midnight Suitor” about this girl named Emily Lou in the rural south in the 1960's during the civil rights era felt head over heels in love with a mysterious suitor that comes every night, exactly midnight on her porch unknowingly the suitor is Emily Lou’s only friend named Anita May in disguise. Becoming a writer, if all else fails I want to be when I grow up to shape the thoughts and ideals of my readers at every page. During the journals from Bederman to NG, it has helped me to be an analytical reader, strategic writer and to guide others.
