It all started when I got excited about Vice President Kamala Harris running for the presidency. I began designing shirts featuring her in a variety of patriotic gowns: at the DNC, attending an LGBT event in a rainbow-colored gown, posing near war and navy memorials, standing at the White House, and, of course, by the Statue of Liberty, holding the iconic "Torch of Freedom."

As I worked on these designs, political fantasy ideas for a book series started swirling in my mind, followed by a few political songs. It was then that I realized I was creating at a pivotal moment in history and came up with the "When We Fight! We Win!" Collection. As a proud Democrat and the daughter of a military lieutenant, I couldn’t have been more honored to have this vision for the future.

I love dreaming, and my imagination didn't stop there. I thought, What if she wins? Who will perform at her inauguration? And that was it—I started planning the entire celebration in my head.

In my fantasy world, everyone was decked out in patriotic attire. Shirts, dresses, cups, notebooks—anything I could dream up, I turned into merchandise. And as a lingerie designer, I began thinking about creating party outfits and glamorous gowns next. I knew exactly what I wanted to see, so I got to work, even if I didn’t know all the names for what I was envisioning.

I couldn’t help but laugh at myself as I realized that, while I knew a lot about lingerie, party clothes, jumpsuits, and gowns, suits—especially men's suits—were a whole different world! Designing sexy men’s thongs, lingerie for the LGBT community, and booty shorts? Sure! But suits? Not quite my language.
