Leadership
You were not born just to pay bills; you were born to make a significant impact on humanity.
True Leadership: Inspiring Through Purpose and Passion
Leadership is defined as the capacity to influence others through inspiration, which is motivated and generated by passion. This passion is driven by a vision, which is birthed from a conviction produced by a sense of purpose. Leadership is indeed a complex process, but each one of us has the potential to become a leader if we follow this path.
To become a true leader, you must first discover a purpose for your life. This purpose becomes a deep conviction. That conviction transforms into a vision, which ignites a passion you want to pursue. This passion inspires others, allowing you to influence them. When you influence people, they recognize you as a leader.
Discovering Purpose: The First Step to Leadership
True leaders do not seek followers or leadership for its own sake. The leadership journey begins with discovering a sense of purpose for your own life. Ask yourself, why was I born? What do I feel deeply about? What do I believe I am supposed to do for my generation? Purpose separates you from the pack. All leaders develop a sense of destiny and purpose, which becomes their conviction.
Developing Conviction: The Foundation of Vision
If there's no deep conviction in your life, you'll never be a leader; you'll merely be a manager. Conviction means having a deep belief that you are important to your generation. Every one of us came to earth with something important to do, but many of us died without ever finding it. That deep conviction is what produces your sense of vision.
Vision: The Blueprint of Your Conviction
Conviction manifests as vision. Vision is what you see in your mind's eye. It's what you think deeply about. Unfortunately, most people are conditioned to simply get an education, find a job, pay bills, and die, without ever developing a sense of conviction or vision. Many aspiring leaders have no real conviction; they are motivated by titles, positions, and money.
Passion: The Driving Force of Leadership
Your vision creates passion. Where there is no passion, there can be no leadership. True leaders live out of passion. Passion is a desire stronger than death. It is finding something not just to live for but to die for. Ask yourself, would you die for what you are doing right now? Leaders are individuals who have died to their own self-preservation. Once you develop a passion, you inspire people. People are inspired by what you are willing to sacrifice for, which is why they follow you.
The Example of Jesus: A Model for Leadership
Jesus Christ exemplified this principle. He distinguished between a hireling and a shepherd. A hireling, like a manager, looks after the sheep for a wage and runs when danger comes. The good shepherd, however, stands between the wolf and the sheep, ready to give his life. This example separates true leaders from mere managers.
Inspiring Others: The Essence of Leadership
Leadership is about passion, and passion inspires people. If you do not inspire people, you will have to manipulate them, and the moment you manipulate people, you cease to be a leader and become a dictator. True leaders inspire through their passion and conviction.
Prayer
Lord, we come before you, seeking your guidance in discovering our true purpose and passion. Help us develop deep convictions and visions that inspire us to lead. Strengthen us to live out our passions and to inspire others through our sacrifices. Grant us the courage to stand firm in our convictions and to lead with integrity and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
