Shorts creators can now sign up for YouTube's Partner Program and start monetizing their material to make money.

Creators must have 1,000 subscribers and fulfill certain view requirements in order to be qualified for the program.

Unlike traditional video content, the ad revenue-sharing strategy for Shorts allocates a portion to a "creator pool" based on views across all Shorts.

You must fulfill one of the following conditions in order to enroll in the program:

Have 1,000 subscribers and 10 million recent qualifying public shorts views.

Have 4,000 hours of legal public viewing time for long-form films and 1,000 subscribers.

In accordance with YouTube's Originality Policy, monetizable material must also be original and created by you, not someone else.

Shorts' ad revenue-sharing is structured differently than normal videos'. You can determine whether shorts monetization is worthwhile by reading this article's explanation of how it operates.

How It Works: Revenue Sharing For YouTube Shorts

Sharing of ad income for shorts operates differently from that for conventional video.

First, money will be collected from the advertisements that run in between Shorts in the YouTube Shorts feed.

Then, based on views and music usage across all watched Shorts, a percentage of the total income will be distributed to a "creator pool".

Then, according to each qualified creator's proportion of all views, the money from the Creator Pool will be distributed to them.

45% of the revenue allotted to monetizing creators for their Shorts will go to them.

According to YouTube, the new approach pays creators for their contributions to the entire Shorts experience, not only for films that have advertisements next to them.

The Revenue tab in YouTube Studio Analytics will display your daily expected revenue and views by content category so you can see your Shorts revenues and performance.

You can get a more thorough breakdown of your profits from Shorts, video, and live content by using the "How you make money" card.
