Homemade Cold Brew Coffee Recipes

Milk with coffee ice

The quickest and easiest refreshing drink in the heat is milk with coffee ice. It takes no more than a minute to prepare, the main thing is to freeze your usual favorite coffee in ice cube trays in advance.

Just add a few ice cubes to a mug of milk – as it melts, it will give the drink a coffee flavor. You can vary the number of cubes as you wish: for a richer taste, fill the glass with ice to the brim, and then pour milk over it. You can make this drink for breakfast and drink it little by little until lunch.

Iced coffee

The second easiest drink to prepare is iced coffee, or coffee with ice, which is especially popular in Greece . To prepare it, you will need milk, ice, sugar and coffee. The traditional basis of the recipe is 30 milliliters of espresso per serving. The amount of other ingredients depends on the desired sweetness and strength of the drink.

Preparation:

  1. Beat ice with sugar and milk in a blender until crumbled.
  2. Pour in espresso and stir until smooth.
  3. You can serve it with a cap of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Or you can grate chocolate on top.

Dalgona coffee

Dalgona coffee is a trendy drink made from instant coffee, it came to us from Asia through popular videos on social networks.

To make one serving of classic dalgona coffee, you will need a whisk or mixer and the following ingredients:

  • two tablespoons of instant coffee;
  • two tablespoons of sugar;
  • two tablespoons of hot water;
  • 300 milliliters of milk (this is 17 tablespoons);
  • three to five ice cubes.

Preparation:

  1. Mix hot water, sugar and instant coffee in one container.
  2. Beat everything with a whisk until a creamy texture forms, until a very thick foam forms.
  3. Now take a cup with ice cubes and pour milk into it. It can be any - cow, coconut, almond, oat.
  4. After this, we put our creamy foam on top.

Cold brew

Cold brew is the king of cold coffee drinks. It is coffee brewed in an alternative way - with cold water. The process takes from eight hours to a day. In some coffee shops, cold brew is mistakenly called simply cold coffee with milk, so it is better to check with the barista what exactly is meant.

We will share a recipe for a classic cold brew, which is even suitable for vegans . For one serving you will need:

  • 300 milliliters of water;
  • 30 grams of coarsely ground coffee, light or medium roast (this will make the drink less bitter and sour);
  • 300 grams of ice.

Preparation:

  1. Add all ingredients to the French press.
  2. Cover with a lid or a plate, it is not yet time to press the filter all the way down.
  3. Place in the refrigerator for eight to 24 hours.
  4. The finished cold brew can be consumed by pouring it into a mug straight from the French press, but can also be diluted with water, milk or cream if it turns out too strong.

Banana Coffee Drink with Ice Cream and Cold Brew

Cold brew can be used to make different versions of the invigorating drink, the taste of which can be varied depending on the additives. Alan Krohnke, head of the brand barista group at Tiny Footprint Coffee, suggested, for example, decorating the taste of classic cold brew with ice cream and banana:

Ingredients:

  • five teaspoons of coarsely ground coffee;
  • 100 milliliters of water;
  • 15 milliliters of caramel syrup;
  • 50 grams of banana;
  • 100 grams of vanilla ice cream;
  • ice - optional.

Preparation:

  1. Place ground coffee into a French press.
  2. Pour 100 ml of cold water into a French press and then stir thoroughly.
  3. Leave to brew for 8-10 hours in the refrigerator without lowering the plunger.
  4. After 8-10 hours, lower the plunger and use the resulting concentrate to prepare a drink.
  5. Place coffee, banana and caramel syrup in a blender.
  6. Beat on high speed until smooth.
  7. Add ice cream and beat again on medium speed.
  8. To serve, use a tall glass. Add ice if desired and top with coffee ice cream.

Bumble coffee based on cold brew

Bumble is a coffee drink with orange juice added. It can be made using either espresso or cold brew. It turns out very tasty and extremely invigorating. To prepare, you will need:

  • 50 milliliters of coffee;
  • two oranges;
  • tablespoon of sugar syrup;
  • ice - half the volume of the mug in which the drink will be prepared.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare a classic cold brew, you need to take 50 milliliters of the total volume.
  2. Squeeze the juice from two oranges and strain to remove the seeds and pulp.
  3. Pour ice into a mug or glass.
  4. Pour coffee and sugar syrup over ice in a glass.
  5. Pour in orange juice in a thin stream - then the finished drink will be two-layered.

How to choose coffee

The tastier the coffee, the better the drink will be. So if you want to get the maximum taste, don't just grab the first bag of coffee you come across in the supermarket.
