Hello everyone this is Lokie, I stream Brawl Stars daily using the Turnip app, I often receive questions from fellow gamers on how to set up their own streams. In this post, I’ll walk you through my setup process, sharing tips on overlays, chat, and donations to help you create the best live streaming experience on YouTube. Whether you’re a newbie gamer or someone looking to step up your streaming game, Turnip makes the entire process simple and fun. Let me walk you through how I use Turnip to stream daily on YouTube — and why it’s such an amazing tool for gamers like us. So without any further let’s dive into a process to set up this wonderful app for your streaming.

If you’re looking to stream Brawl Stars or any other game on YouTube, the Turnip app is an excellent tool that simplifies the process. Here’s how I use it for my daily gaming sessions

Test Your Stream: Before going live, ensure everything is working smoothly, from sound to video quality.

Getting Started with Turnip: The First Home Screen

So, I will start with the very basic steps, that’s begins with the first home screen. Once you open the app, you will beseeing simple and easy to understand interface that makes navigation super easy. Here, you’ll find:

  • Options to create a Rooms and Stream now
  • A clear path to start your stream or explore other community streams.
  • Quick settings to manage your profile and preferences.

The home screen is simple but powerful, giving you everything you need to dive into streaming without feeling overwhelmed. To get your more clear picture of its interface, here is the screenshot

Creating a Room: Record, Chat, or Audio Options

Home offers two option to go with and one of the coolest features is the ability to create a room. This can be used for, chatting with friends, or hosting an audio-only session as its completely your choice as what kind of interaction you want with your viewers such as:

  • Choose between video, audio, or chat modes.
  • Customize the room settings for privacy or collaboration.
  • Share the room link with friends to invite them in.

For me, I use discord most of my time for audio chat, but yes, I have experienced the audio room already on this app and trust me it works great.

Adding Your Game or App: The Game Screen

If you do not want to set up the audio room you can simply click on the setup stream button, once you clicked the setup stream button on the home screen, you will be asked to select the game or app you want to showcase. On the game screen, Turnip lets you:

  • Choose from a list of installed games on your device.
  • Add other apps if you’re streaming something outside of gaming.

This feature ensures your audience sees exactly what you want them to, with no guesswork involved. On this screen you will some most common or famous games by clicking on the more games option you will the whole list of installed games and app of your phone. After this you will see the screen, asking about the stream’s title, description, thumbnail directly from the app as shown below don’t worry It’s one time set-up.

Setting Up Your Stream: Quality and Modes

Last but not the least, once your favourite game is selected, You will be on most important screen because, it’s time to set up the stream as turnip offers a range of customization options:

Stream Quality: You can choose resolutions up to 1080p for crisp and clear visuals. I would personally suggest you guys to go with 1080p (30 Mbps Internet speed preffered).

I have tried 480p streaming options too, but that gives choppy gaming experience to your audience, you may feel smooth gameplay but your audience may not.

Stream Visibility: Decide whether your stream will be public or private. It’s important to watch stream by setting this to private first, if it goes well i.e smooth gameplay, no audio delay, no blurry video, you may set the stream visibility to public.

Orientation: Switch between portrait or landscape mode depending on your game and audience preferences.

These options let you tailor your stream to match your style and technical requirements, making the experience seamless.

Choosing Your Platform: YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook

Turnip supports multiple platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and even Custom RTMP for other services. For YouTube streaming:

  • Log in with your Google account.
  • Select your channel and permissions.

Having multiple platform options ensures that no matter where your audience is, Turnip has you covered.

Previewing Your Stream: Beautiful Overlays

  • Before you hit that “Go Live” button, Turnip’s preview screen allows you to check your stream layout as per the image
  • Choose from a variety of stunning overlays to give your stream a professional look.
  • Test the audio and video settings one last time.

I love how customizable this is, especially the overlay options, which make my streams visually appealing without any extra effort.

Live Streaming: Alerts, Chat, and More

When your stream is live, Turnip keeps everything organized and interactive:

Chat Box: Engage with your audience in real-time without needing another device.

Alert Screen: Get notified of new messages, followers, or donations.

Subscribers Screen: Although this feature is great, I did notice one area for improvement. Notifications for gained subscribers didn’t always come through, which is something I hope they fix in future updates.

Despite this minor hiccup, the live-streaming experience is smooth and keeps your focus on gameplay.

Why Turnip Stands Out

Here are a few reasons why Turnip has become my go-to app for daily streaming:

  1. Ease of Use: The interface is straightforward and doesn’t require a learning curve.
  2. Customization: From overlays to stream quality, you can make your streams uniquely yours.
  3. Community: The ability to join or host rooms fosters a sense of belonging.
  4. Monetization: With integrated donation options, it’s easier than ever to earn while streaming.
  5. Managing Donations: UPI Integration

One standout feature is the ability to receive donations directly during your stream. Turnip makes it easy:

  • Add your UPI ID to enable audience payments.
  • Display donation alerts during the stream to thank your supporters.
  • Manage donation history within the app for transparency.
  • This feature not only adds a personal touch but also allows streamers to monetize their content effortlessly.

Final Thoughts

Turnip has transformed how I stream on YouTube every day because I don’t super or powerful smartphone to run this app. Simple setup to the interactive features, it’s a one-stop solution for gamers I must say, who are looking to share their passion with the world. While there’s room for minor improvements, like subscriber notifications, the overall experience is top-notch.

If you’re a gamer, Try Turnip . It’s easy and fun to use, with decent features that make streaming a breeze. Who knows? You might just find yourself streaming every day like me!

Happy streaming! 🎮👍
