Homeschooling, the good, the bad, and the ify.
Could homeschooling be considered a good or bad thing, and why?

You've been all over the web, searching for this one answer and were you able to find it? No, you probably didn't find an exact "yes" or "no" answer. Most don't, but I'm not here to give you a "yes" or "no" to your answer. I'm here to help you create an answer for yourself and to tell you about what homeschooling meant to me as a young adult. It all started back when I was only 6 years old, I had finished my first year of school. I was excited and was about move onto the next year of schooling. When all of a sudden, someone knocked on the classroom door. To my shock, it was the principle, he wore neatly straighten jeans and his shirt covered almost all of his body. On the other hand he was considerably tall and slim however his finger nails seemed like claws and he never cut them. He almost always had some sort of depressing angry look to him. I always tried avoiding him if I could and making as little eye contact as possible while remaining at least 3 metres away from him. Though, this time it was different when he came through the door, he ignored the rest of the class and then just stood there. Silently starring at me, as an eagle stares at its prey. I knew something was wrong and I could feel it, he would never just come up to me and casually greet me. No, there was something off about him that time. He cleared his throat then began to speak, "Hey there sport, your parents and I had a little discussion about you-" It was at that moment when I knew, there had to be something wrong, but what? "Hmph, I casually but happily mumble back to him.", "Your parents decided to pull you out of school, for your own good." For my own good? I quietly said to myself. What part of removing ones education is for "their own good"? I wondered. "It's ok sport, I understand you must feel a bit confused to why your parents are doing this.", "Yes, why are they doing this-" My question gets interrupted. I see my parents slowly but surely making their way through the door. "Hey Joel." Says my father happily. "Did you hear the news?" What news? I answered confusedly. "Oh, me and your mother have some extra free time on our hands and we thought that it would be a great idea if we homeschooled you instead!" My heart suddenly dropped and I was scared for what the future had install for me. However, over time I came to actually enjoying homeschooling. It was a first, I never really thought I would enjoy doing homeschooling over normal schooling, but then I did! Now over 8 years later I'm still very grateful to both of my parents for believing in me and pushing me to my limits. Trust me, homeschooling is worth the effort! Oh and parents out there, don't just take my word for it, try it out yourself. You'll be glad you did it.
