Introduction

“Teach smart not hard”

Teaching should be a passion not a profession. Lots of teachers working in schools consider this profession as 8:00 to 3:00 job. When I was in school I remember that my science teacher was a b.com graduate. Students can easily differentiate Passionate professionals and so call others. Every passionate teacher has their own way of smart teaching. This article will project my passion towards teaching.

The Teacher

The teacher should be a friend of the whole class. A best teacher is one who can engage all the students present in the class at a time. Let us consider a class with a no. of students in it. Let the first class be mathematics. The teacher steps over the dice and start the class as she enters and this continues for the rest of the year. If you are one of the students you will definitely not feel interested in that subject throughout the year. Let us consider another teacher who teaches science. If he/she enters the class and put forward no of rules that students should be attentive in class, no one should talk with one another, etc, one will definitely not feel interested in that subject. These teachers will expect that students should listen to them the entire hour. They are going spend most in controlling the students. The students don’t want to listen to him/her because they don’t consider that teacher as one of them. How many teachers enter the class to learn something from students other than teach them? In our collages how many faculty members give lectures as they narrate stories? How many of their lectures students feel that they are in another world? This is because these teachers had never tried to develop their relationship with students.

Reasons

If we observe our education system right from our childhood we are just educated to read, memorize and vomit during exams. During our classes we were just asked to listen to the teacher. We were not asked to listen and understand it. How many of our teachers asked their students weather they have any doubt in their early stage when they were kids? Especially in primary school level. If these children have no practice of asking any questions they will face several problems in their later stage of studies (during college time).

Primary level smart education

Actual education starts from primary school. Children start thinking from that age. They come across many basic concepts, terminologies, laws, etc. First of all it is the responsibility of the institutions to analyze the talent of the particular student. One may be talented in science other may be in mathematics some other may be in biology. Passionate and dedicated teachers are not only required during 10th or 12th but also during the primary level education also. If we want a perfect product we have to concentrate right from the beginning of the production rather concentrating only on post-production processes (for example for a molded product the molding process is most important apart from the finishing process). In India our education system concentrate only during finishing stage of education and blame students for it rather correcting it. There should be teachers who can find talent in each of their students

Middle and high school

After identifying their talent in primary level the students should be encouraged to develop it in middle school level. Students will develop their talent at this age. But at the same time they should be thought to treat all the subjects equally.

“Parents are the first teachers”

Parents play important role during this age. When a child is born the parents will have lots of dreams towards their children. The children may have some other talent in them. Parents should be supportive towards their talent. This is most important to understand that Smart education is not only teacher’s responsibility or institution’s responsibility but parents play an important role. They should invest their time, knowledge, efforts towards their children. Today we can see well known people are successful because of their parent’s support. If a guy wants to become a sports person, his parent forces him to become an engineer then there is no means of finding his talent. If he is forced to become an engineer, He will work hard rather smart to lead the life because he doesn’t liked that life.

“Life is all about the next step”

Students should learn that if their dreams don’t come true they have to move forward in their lives rather grieving on it. How many children work hard to achieve their dreams? Unfortunately some of them don’t able to achieve it. We should understand that we humans are multi-talented. If we are confident that we will achieve it we have to put more efforts to improve our abilities. But we should never dare to leave our dreams.

Higher education

This is the final step to achieve our dreams. Weather it may be studies, sports, or arts there will be a time where every students strive hard to achieve their dreams. Talking about education it is college period. Students are brain washed during their school time that if they complete the school with high grades the rest of the life will be damn easy. These students after entering the college they see that they will have to work harder here to sustain in the real world. This stress doesn’t allow them to concentrate well in their studies. We have to understand that if the product is manufactured well but finishing is not perfect who will buy it? Likewise what is the use of regretting at the end that I could have done well? This is the reason I insist primary education should be perfect. Can we dare to build a building with improper foundation? Then why we don’t care of our basic foundation for our lives?

Today’s educational institutions

Today education is a business. Especially schools we would have heard from our parents or grandparents that there were not many schools when they were young. Some of These pre-schools provide forms to the baby in the womb. There are very few schools that really want to serve the society.

What if I am a Teacher?

I will find who likes my subject and who doesn’t. Because being an engineering student I really like some papers and I don’t like some. The reason may be either the student doesn’t like the course or he doesn’t like the teacher or he can’t understand what the teacher teaches. It is my responsibility to find the one who really can’t understand his way of teaching.

Many teachers ask their students to be interactive. Do they really make the class interactive? First it is important for the students why so and so subject is important in their lives. If students realize this they will definitely be attentive in the class. After explaining this I will ask my students to get information about the next topic. I will make students interact with class and I will give rest of the information.

The Use of modern technology had encouraged the students to learn better. All the students can’t understand all the concepts thought the class. Many don’t tell their teachers that they don’t understand so and so topic. I will suggest such student to get the help of the Internet.

Conclusion

My suggestion towards smart education is that our education system should start concentrating on children’s talents and abilities from kindergarten and primary school itself. The parents should encourage their children to do what they want to but guide them in right way.
