What is infrastructure
In an infrastructure point of view to run a web page or application we need a server, storage space and networking devices like router adapter etc.
A collection of networking device, more storage space and collection of server that can be organized in a building which is called data center.
Availability zone:
- It is physically separated and isolated data center within a geographic region.
- Each Availability zone provides low latency and high throughput network connectivity to other availability zone within the same region.
- Each availability zone is isolated form other zone, physically separated and connected via low latency and high bandwidth network links.
- This means if one availability zone (data center) goes down or experience an issue, your application and data will still be available in other zones within the same region.
- Availability zone's are designed to provide redundancy, fault tolerance and scalability for your application.
- For example you can use multiple availability zones to host your application and data, it making your application highly available even if one zone is goes down.
- Additionally you can use multiple Availability zone's to increase the scalability of your application by distributing the access traffic across the multiple zone
Region:
- A region is a physical geographical area that contains multiple, isolated, and physically separated availability zones i.e. two or more combined availability zone is called region.
- Region allows customer to run their application and store their data close to their end user, thereby reducing latency and increasing performance.
- For example, if you have customers in Europe, you might choose to run your application in the AWS EU (Ireland) region.
- By selecting appropriate region for your application, you can ensure that you customer have a fast and reliable experience with your application.
Edge location:
Edge location are data centers which delivers the data to the end users with low latency.
How to choose AWS region:
Choosing the right region is important to ensure low latency, cost effectively, and compliance with data regulation.
1. Latency: choose a region that is closest to your user or customer to reduce latency and improve performance.
2. Cost: AWS pricing varies by region, so compare the cost of services in a different region before making decision.
3. Compliance: some region may be subject to specific data regulation.so consider the data residency requirements for your use case and choose a region that should be meets those requirements.
Note: data never leaves a region without your explicit permission
5. Service Availability: Different AWS services may not be available for all regions, so verify the availability of services you need before choosing a region.
6. Disaster Recovery: Consider choosing a multiple regions for a disaster recovery purpose to minimize down time in the event of outage.
What is Latency?
1.Latency is the amount of time.
2.It takes for a request to be sent from user’s device and for the response to be consider back.
3.Latency is often expressed in milliseconds and is a key factor is determining the overall user experience
4.Lower latency means faster response time, resulting in a better user experience, while higher latency cause slow performance and Frustration
5.In simple words latency is an amount of time how fast fetch our request from the server and it helps increasing performance.
CIDR – classless inter domain router
1. It contains Base IP and Subnet Mask
2. Base IP any one of the Private IP
3. Subnet mask /34
4. CIDR used to divide a bunch of IP address into small groups which is called Subnet. This process is called sub network
5. CIDR is used to efficiently utilize the IP address, it allows the assignment of IP address in a more flexible and effective manner previous class-full addressing system.
6. Which was limited by fixed address ranges and did not allow effective utilization of IP address compare than CIDR.
7. With CIDR IP address can be divided into smaller subnets and allowing for more efficient allocation of IP address and reducing the amount waste address
8. We can define two types of subnet which is public and private.
VPC – Virtual private cloud
1. VPC is virtual network infrastructure provided by cloud service provider such as AWS, GCD, and Azure.
2. It provide a secure and isolated network environment in the cloud where you can launch your resources (like host your website deploy your application) such as virtual machine, database and storage.
3. VPCs allow you to define the network architecture of your application, including IP address range, subnets, rout tables, internet gateways.
4. VPCs provide a secure and flexible way to deploy your application in the cloud and allowing you to define and control your network environment, ensuring that your resources are isolated from other customers
5. Providing a level of security and privacy that is similar to on premise data centers.
