In order to study about astronomy we need to know the actual definition of astronomy. So the definition of astronomy is “The branch of science that concern with sphere, celestial objects and the physical universe as a whole”

Our vast solar system

It will take speed of 1 voyager to know that how long it would take to carry out distant objects inside the solar system. Our local star known as Sun lies approximately 150 Km away from our planet Earth. Hypothetically, Speed of 1 voyager along at 60,000 Km per hour would take to complete that distance in 104 days.

Calculation of different astronomers show that the Planet Mercury is the nearest planet to earth and to every other planet in the solar system. Man took its first try to reach mercury in 1970s and it took something like 147 days to get there but now due to better progress in machinery in rockets it would take about 40 days to reach mercury even though it is the nearest planet to the earth. Spacecrafts usually don't travel straight they follow the path that uses least amount of energy. As pluto is the farthest planet from earth it would take 9–12 years roughly. Pluto is officially classified as a dwarf planet.

Big Bang Theory

In 1920s an astronomer from california named as Edwin Hubble observed distant galaxies from his powerful telescope. He made two mind blowing discoveries. He observed that the cloud figure far in the sky are actually galaxies. Then the ancient roman's named our galaxy as Milky Way.Hubble observed that milky is not the only galaxy. Then he observed that our galaxies are constantly moving. After few years A belgian astronomer ask a question that “HOW UNIVERSE BEGING?”. Then Hubble say that “If the universe is expanding then it was smaller long ago!”. This breakthrough idea later known as BIG BANG THEORY.

Big Bang was the moment 13.8 billion years ago. Scientist says that universe began as tiny first. It was a dense fireball which exploded later, and the universe was made. Most astronomers use this theory to explain “HOW THE UNIVERSE BEGIN”.

What has happend since the Big Bang Theory

Atronomers say that since the Big Bang Theory the universe is expanding. In past everything was made of gas, the gases were hydrogen, helium and cooled gases. Astronomers says that universe is 13 billion years old. They say that the gravity cause gases and dust to from galaxies and stars. The MATTER spread from Big Bang. Astronomers include ourselves in the Big Bang Theory. Actually you are made of star stuff!

Our space Journey

It is estimated that 117 billion humans have lived on the surface of our planet, and almost 8 billion are still alive today. We are all on the same journey through space, circling our local star, the Sun, at roughly 110,000 kilo meters per hour, and we don’t even notice it. As you know, we call that complete orbit around the Sun a year. Unfortunately, some infants will not make one orbit but some humans will circle the Sun over a hundred times. I feel privileged to have made that journey 70 times. Considering the age of the Universe, our time here on Earth is minuscule. We should all make the most of our precious time living here on our magical planet.
