You must be well aware of the feeling of having to wake up early in the morning to get ready for school, right?

Or your parents scolding you as they received a complaint from the class teacher because you forgot to take your assignments!

Unable to reach on time to the college, or missing out on important lectures, these are the most common occurrences which are faced by the college or school students.

Certain rules and regulations play a key role in providing value-based education.

Unpredictable circumstances often create the most disastrous havoc, and to minimize the aftereffects or consequences we often try our best to come up with innovative solutions. These solutions aim to fulfill our targets by accomplishing whatever tasks that are envisioned by facilitating easy methodologies. This is also called the “adaptive intelligence”, which means the ability to adapt to ever-changing conditions.

Speaking of change, the education industry has been the forerunner in terms of amalgamating itself with technology to bring in new ways of imparting education. That is why e-learning is presently a hot topic amongst academicians and students. A few years back if someone would have mentioned the word, he or she would have responded with utter disinterest. But as the years passed by online learning started receiving the same respect as the traditional schools.

Covid-19 has upended the entire world be it economically or socio-politically, but in stark contrast, it has made online study the new normal. Although it indicates being carefree, or stress-free, online studying is not always easy, especially when you can be tempted with so many things available from the comfort of your house.

Here are a few tips to help you stay focused when you are at your home studying online.

Tip #1: Create and maintain a schedule

Have you ever faced the last-minute rush of doing something because you are running out of time? How about doing two to three things at once? Being a multitasker does not mean procrastinating, only hurrying in the last moment barely trying to complete something which you should have done a long time ago.

So what is the solution to this you may ask, well the answer is pretty simple, create a schedule or a routine? Just because your classes are going to be conducted online doesn’t mean you will join late, because that could cause you to miss out on important discussions or relevant instructions. As per the timing of your class, fix your daily routine, be it going to the market, or other recreational activities.

Tip #2: Make a to-do list of assignments

This might sound like the most repeated advice, but nine out of ten students who make this kind of list often succeed in accomplishing tasks more efficiently. Make a to-do list of the assignments, projects, chapters of particular subjects and continue to check them off the list as you go along completing them. This will help you to keep track of which tasks are the most time-consuming and which are the ones that need to be prioritized.

Tip #3: Create a comfortable study space or workspace

What is the key to efficient study? Is it just concentration? Not if it is being hindered by lack of comfortable space. Low dimmed lights or excessive noise both can prove to be detrimental to your study, hence it is essential to build your study space where you can sit and study with undivided attention.

Tip #4: Eliminate the distractions

Online study can be especially challenging for those students who have a very short attention span, hence it is imperative to remove all that might distract him/her during their class. How many times has it been that the class is going on, but since the video is off, you have taken advantage of it and started scrolling down the social media feeds?

Be it an invitation to hang out with your friends, or a new movie releasing that day, you can do all of these later, hence avoid the distraction.

Tip #5: Take notes for online exams

Well, this is not a new tip, but a very important study hack, when the teacher or professor is conducting the class, he/she makes sure to emphasize certain important points. It is your duty as a student to take notes of it, just like in the live classes, these notes could be used as reviewing or reference material to prepare for your online examination or assignments.

Tip #6: Efficient educational technology

How annoying is it when there are technical issues in terms of the audio or video disconnecting or the screen freezing in the middle of an important class?

You need to make sure that you have a proper internet connection along with compatible electronic devices to facilitate an uninterrupted online study or class.

Tip #7: Maintaining an interactive communication

Since the class is online you are not able to see either your professors or classmates, but does that necessarily mean that you will not interact with them when required? In case you have a query you have the liberty to clear your doubts with the concerned teacher. You should also participate in class discussions that will not only help you in being attentive but also will improve your communication skills and increase your confidence level.
