7 items you just have to add to your university checklist
Universi checklist for Students

Have you received an unconditional offer from the university or are you wanting your conditional offer on A-level results day? Well, you need to read the guide to plan what you require to bring with you ahead of moving to the university. In this article, you can come across 7 things people tend to forget or don’t think to bring with them to help you out. Get sorted for the freshers and student living with this guide.
If you don’t pack properly for the university, don’t stress too much. There will be shops for you to grab anything you have forgotten. You also don’t need to splash the cash, head to any grocery store to get your stuff. The student accommodations are generally located near tons of shops so you can easily get all the essentials you need without worrying. Another helpful tip for your university checklist is to create a notes file with everything you need and tick them off when they are sorted. You can also share the notes files with others so if you are splitting kitchen items with your flatmates, you need to share the list with them. You do not need to buy oven gloves, tea towels, and clothes. So, here are the top 7 things which you can have:
The best tips to pack when moving to your student accommodation
Bedding: This might seem like an obvious one, but some people do genuinely forget to bring bedding. We suggest taking a few of each item like a duvet, cover, sheets, mattress protector, or pillows. You will easily find out which size bed your student room will have prior to moving in. You do not want to just bring one bedding set with you, as you will have to wash and dry the one set all the time. It is always great to bring a spare sheet just in case.
Scissors and sellotape: You don’t want to go to cut the label off your new top before a night out and find that no one in the flat has a pair of scissors. It is also very important to have scissors when in the kitchen for opening sachets and stuff. Whether it is adding some decorations in the communal area or needing sellotape for your ripped poster, it will come in handy. You can go out and also buy a roll whenever but it is ideal to bring some with you, you will most likely need some during the fresher’s week.
Extension boards: Though the student accommodation Cardiff has ideally located plug sockets next to your desk and bed, you might need an extension board, so that you can charge all your devices at once. As you are going to spend less time in the accommodation, you want to charge your phone, laptop, gaming console, or even hair dryer.
Earplugs and headphones: The student accommodations can be loud sometimes. You don’t want to start cracking on with the uni works and then next door hear someone having a game of guitar hero or blasting music. It is best to get some earplugs for the night-time or when it is time to quit studying- they are a game changer for blocking out noise. The headphones work just fine as well.
Bedroom fan: Having a fan in the warmer months will also be a godsend for you. If you are stressing about the storage space then don’t. Generally, there is under-bed storage in the bed. You can store your fan away in the colder months and bring it out when it is time to. A lot of places will provide student discounts which are available if you need to purchase a fan or any other household items.
Laundry bag: Yes, a laundry bag is a must-have. It is useful for taking your washing to the laundry room while staying in your student accommodation. The great part about bringing along a laundry bag is you can use it to store the clothes while moving in. you can even use a reusable shopping bag as your washing bag if you don’t want to spend any money on a laundry bag. You can buy one once you reach your accommodation if you want to save space while traveling.
Speaker: Bring along a Bluetooth speaker for when you are having pre before a night out at your student flat or when you just simply want to listen to music. Ask your flatmates if they are planning to bring one, so you don’t have to bring along a massive speaker to put in the kitchen. However, you have to be mindful and respectful of all the noise levels when you are moved into your accommodation.
Wrapping Up
You can sometimes feel overwhelmed when you are in your accommodation. My last tip for you guys is to reach out for help if you feel anxious or also feel overwhelmed. While little stress is, normal and can actually motivate us to push ourselves. There is a fine line between feeling a bit stressed to being mentally and physically drained from the pressures of university and examination time. There is help to be found at the university, whether it is letting the tutors know that you struggling with a specific task or module or speaking to someone on the campus about your well-being. Do not sit back and struggle, open up and get support from the professionals.
