10 Ways to Make Money Blogging

Blogging is my job. People often ask me what I do for a living and when I tell them that I am a blogger, they don't get it. They are confused and they are curious as to how I make money as a blogger. I tell them that blogging is a business, it's not just a hobby. If you really want to make money from your blog, you have to treat it as a business.

I have made thousands of dollars over the years as a blogger and I am excited to tell you exactly how I monetize my blogs to make more than $40,000 a month.

1)Brand Deals

Have you ever watched a YouTube video or read a post where the content creator would name drop a specific product in the blog post or video? This is a sponsored post. Brands pay content creators to place their product in their content to gain brand awareness and hopefully, more sales and revenue for them.

I have made thousands of dollars with brand deals. Usually, brands reach out to me personally and ask me to work with them on a specific campaign. I don't accept every single brand deal, I am quite selective because I don't want to alienate my audience.

Sometimes, I reach out to brands and offer them a deal, but most of the time, I receive offers from brands via email or Instagram direct message.

2) Affiliate Marketing

I get the most questions about affiliate marketing. It's a very lucrative way of making money from your blog but you have to be selective about the products you promote. Don't just create content because you want to make money, be authentic.

If you don't know what affiliate marketing is well, it's quite simple. You promote other people's products or services and when someone purchases an item from your link, you get paid.

I use Amazon Associates, Clickbank and I also promote various software and tools. You can make a lot of money from affiliate marketing if you get it right.

3) Adverts

I use Google Adsense and Mediavine. It's quite simple, when you have enough good quality content on your blog (about 20 800 to 1000 word articles) on your blog, you can apply to host adverts on your blog. When someone clicks on the ads, you get paid. There is no set-in-stone amount per click because every niche is different.

The finance niche is very profitable and you can get up to $20 per click with the finance niche. You might even get more depending on how popular your blog is.

4) Digital Products

I sell digital products such as eBooks and templates. This income is totally passive and I am constantly building new digital products.

5)Courses

I started selling courses through Udemy and Skillshare last year and I make at least $2000 per month with my courses. I mainly teach about making money through Hubpages. I plan to build a new course about blogging in general soon.

6) Coaching

I offer one on one coaching to anyone who wants to learn how to make money as a blogger. It's a lucrative income but it's not passive therefore, I limit the number of coaching sessions that I do each month.

7) Writing Services

People began to reach out regarding writing services in recent months therefore, I created a writing service that allows brands to receive tailored content for me.

9) Speaking gigs

I get a lot of offers to do speaking gigs. I do mainly online speaking gigs and I get paid an agreed fee for each gig.

10)Content Consultancy

I offer content consultancy services for brands that need help in tailoring, planning, and building engaging, meaningful content for their audiences.
