Why luxury makes people "timid"?

These emotions are buried deep in my heart, as if they have been established since primitive times.

When we come to luxurious places, see expensive goods, or meet people who are elegantly dressed, some people inevitably feel fear, flinching, timidity, respect and humility.

We would guess that this is expensive, this is a rich person, this is a powerful person, this is more people than we have.

On the contrary, I am humble, I am not abundant, I am inferior, I do not have the ability to enjoy wealth.

Similarly, people will confuse others through dress and superficial grooming, and make others show respect for themselves.

Similar mental activities always appear in our fragile bodies.

Materials from the outside world have a very stubborn influence on our spirit.

Like philosophers and saints, we do not need to directly teach people to pursue the spirit and spit on the material.

As ordinary people, what we need more is to honestly understand these thoughts that destroy people's hearts.

We are indeed some people who lust for materials, which makes us feel humble or noble, and it is also an important symbol for us to distinguish between people.

Precisely because we are attached to them and need them, we need more material to live a decent life, and the more we meet these needs, the better.

Even most of our achievements and values are based on material, and the amount of material is an important indicator of personal value.

Even a person with noble character and elegant taste is striving for material abundance, which is our basic need for survival.

When most people deny these desires, they must be deceiving themselves.

Is there any way to improve our fear and make our hearts less timid?

The first thing is still to admit our desires first. We are indeed people who are jealous of wealth and greedy for wealth.

Even when we are adults, we are still like children, always envious of what we don't have.

Denying desire will only make people hide in confusion for a long time. For them, "fear" does not exist, and the next step of improvement will not happen.

Seeing more of the world also helps to weaken fear.

When we have seen the most magnificent buildings, the most luxurious people, and the most expensive things, we will look down on the image of "wealth" we encounter again; when we look carefully at the cycle of history, there will be another kind of appropriateness.

Of course, what is awe-inspiring in the world is not only the abundance of wealth, the endless universe, and the enigmatic nature, but also admirable figures who build great achievements, monks who practice morality through hard work, masters who take the pursuit of knowledge as their duty, and philosophers who take wisdom as their career.

For the former, we are mixed with fear and jealousy, but for the latter, we admire and love the latter; for the former, it is an expression of physical emotion, while for the latter, we admire the latter from the inside out; peeling off the truth, some of the former may not be worthy of respect, but the latter is valuable.

Human nature is multifaceted, we not only have material desires, but also spiritual pursuits. When spiritual and material desires live in harmony, ordinary people are more open-minded.

We do not ask for spiritual control of material desires, as long as the spirit can actively and well participate in daily desires, we will be happy enough.

It is painful to pursue too much.

It is not only the superficial decoration that makes people "fear". After being nourished by experience, knowledge and wisdom, our face is a more representative business card, which makes the people we meet read our deeper charm, which cannot be exchanged for simple wealth.
