You can’t please everyone
Its only by being a hypocrite you can

By all means when you try to be at peace with everyone and do everything right, you soon realize that you can’t please everyone and its just an impossible task. The main reason being that people have different understanding of the world, when you find yourself in the middle trying to appeal to everybody, you almost always become a hypocrite because you have to change your positions based on the person in front of you. On one end you have people who expect you to move a certain way, and on the other end you have another set of people who expect you to move a certain way, this ultimately leads you to have to make a choice and since you try to appeal to everybody, you find yourself switching your opinions one way or the other.
It has become clear to me that different people have a different perception of the world, they might all think in the same way but their perception of reality might vary drastically. I really don’t appreciate being found in the crosshairs really, I just think that its a waste of time and quite frankly, not my battle to fight. The hardest part of all this is how people don’t even realize their hypocrisy in all of these situations, they expect a certain behavior from others while themselves do not practice what they preach.
Do you see your hypocrisy?
There are many examples of this but I’ll just take one, a friend of mine who blamed everybody for being incompetent and ignorant yet wasn’t able to acknowledge his own ignorance and incompetence when his turn came, rather he went on and on trying to make excuses for every single thing he did. In one scenario you are quick to criticize and blame others for their failures and how they didn’t do everything they were supposed to, yet when it comes to you the plot changes, you have a thousand reasons why you failed. The hypocrisy is so blatant that it’s comical.
Understand that people are going to be hypocrites and you really can’t please everybody no matter how best you try, however this doesn’t mean we have to become hypocrites ourselves. In as much as it might be fun to say that follow your heart and do what is right, this often times leads us further away, what I’ll rather advocate is for us to seek common grounds wherever possible and when that can’t be the case we stick to our convictions.
The world is full of hypocrites
The world is always going to be full of hypocrites and you’ll become one if you try to please everyone, Instead choose your battles wisely and decide whether you want to live a life of convictions or one of hypocrisy. I never realized just how hypocritical society could be up until recently when I was faced with having to pick sides in a conflict which didn’t even involve me. There is so much hypocrisy going on in the world right now and I can’t even say I am exempt from it at all, I myself have my shortcomings but I think its important to acknowledge our shortcomings on that front to avoid falling victim to them.
One very good example of such hypocrisy in society is self righteousness, when people are quick to criticize others for being wrong or evil meanwhile when you look back at their lives, they probably did much worst than the people they criticize. Sure we aren’t asking you to condone evil because you might have made some mistakes in the past too but you can show a little more compassion, comprehension and flexibility for others considering you had been in the same position.
Conclusion
You can’t please everyone because the world is full of hypocrites and even ourselves are hypocrites to a certain extent, but its important for us to recognize our shortcomings on that and endeavor not to let them influence our judgement in one way or the other.
