Why did you cut your husband's head in two pieces?

What Do You Even Do All Day?

By UsamaPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

The judge looked serious. He asked,

Why did you cut your husband's head in two pieces?

The woman… didn’t flinch.

She said,

"Your honor… I was the brightest student in my college. And that man… he was my teacher."

He told me he loved me.

Filled my eyes with dreams.

Promised me that I’d do research, grow in life.

He said, 'I’ll support you in everything… I’ll stand beside you like a rock.

I believed him. Truly.

I said to myself, ‘God is really kind.

But after marriage?

I forgot what ‘research’ even meant.

And dreams? Ha... I only saw those when I accidentally napped while breastfeeding.

I used to feed Imaan.

Change Mehmood’s diapers.

Help Ahmad with his homework.

Explain math to Fatima.

Make fries for the kids.

Prepare sandwiches for dinner.

Clean the whole house.

Take out the trash.

Fold the dry clothes.

Throw dirty ones in the washing machine.

Clean the fridge.

Chop onions.

Marinate the meat.

Pack kids’ school bags.

Make sweet dish for guests.

Scrub the bathroom.

Take down the curtains and hang them again.

Iron shirts.

Call the superstore.

Call the dry cleaner.

Call the school because Fatima had a complaint.

And then...

This fossil of a man,

sitting on the sofa like he’s made of stone,

scratching himself like he’s searching for treasure,

cracking his fingers like he’s about to play a sad violin...

He looks at me with the IQ of a boiled potato and asks:

“Nadia… just tell me something… what do you even do all day?” 😐🔪

Your honor, I don’t know when I picked up the knife

yes, the same one I was using to cut onions

and started swinging it at his head...

Not to kill him at first.

Just to open it.

Just wanted to take a tiny peek…

To see what the hell was going on inside that genius brain of his.

The courtroom fell completely silent.

Like someone just muted life.

Even the judge stopped blinking.

They say… just 15 minutes before this case,

he had called his wife from his office…

and asked her the same brilliant question:

“Honey, what do you do all day?”

Final Words:

Sometimes… it’s not about the knife.

It’s about those daily, invisible stabs a woman takes

when she sacrifices everything and still hears,

"You do nothing."

Every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and valued

Not just when the dinner’s late or the socks go missing.

So next time before asking your wife what she does all day…

either try doing it yourself…

or just hug her.

Loudly.

Before the silence turns into a scream.

🙂

You know... sometimes it's not about the knife. It’s about all those little cuts that no one sees. The ones that happen every single day. When she gives up her dreams, her sleep, her identity and still someone dares to say, “what do you even do all day?” That sentence... it kills something inside. Every woman deserves to be seen, to be heard, and to be appreciated not judged for how tired she looks or how clean the sink is. Respect her effort, even if she doesn’t scream about it. Love her out loud before silence turns into rage.
