Down the Drain

Freedom Flushed Away - part 3

This time around the ' system ' made sure to leave nothing to chance; wanting to make sure next time I saw freedom I would be a grown man.

A new Judge determined not to repeat what his predecessor had done before; fully aware with the multiple felonies I was facing what the future for me had in store.

Now I'm sure that to most people this next statement will make absolutely no sense; just hear me out and maybe just maybe I can help you to understand and comprehend.

Remember saying that a casket or a prison cell was only two ways this life would go; me thinking I'm smart to realize how being locked up would help my reputation to grow.

Earning stripes while catching felonies when doing dirt in the hood for the set; living by the code of the streets and remaining closed lipped can't hurt when gaining your respect.

Never had any illusions of grandeur thoughts of gang life when the opportunity came along; knowing from day one I could never be a leader since my skin color was wrong.

Translation is I had planned on doing time, as it is just part of the journey; of turning into a man in this world where it ends when your rolled out as a slab on a gurney.

Til the death is more than just a saying if this life is what you to try to obtain; countless bodies thru out the years made streets red, soaked by blood stain.

Many people have died over nothing or things they don't even attempt to understand; so to us, dying for our flag is the perfect reason to put your life on the line down to each man.

That's how serious this life is taking by any banger I came up with and got to know; must always be prepared to give it all for the set to maintain and help it grow.

As is such with life, with out growth the set is bound to become obsolete in a short stime pan; since running a gang is alot like running a business, they both will fail with out a proper plan.

Sometimes in order to survive this world it takes someone stepping in to intervene; just a change of scenery or maybe be an unknown and away from the team.

Of course anything can end in a good or bad way depending how things may play out; when giving chance for change my Mom decided to send me with my my sister down south.

This situation and opportunity had arose when my sister came to visit from out of state; with her I was sent in order for me to have chance for a clean slate.

There was however one glaring issue unaccounted for when moving to a new place with out a plan; such as being compared to the home I left behind this was Mickey Mouse land.

One difference has to do with what is the biggest no no from where I just left; talking about snitching which could easily result in your gruesome death.

A motto to live by is ' snitches get stitches and end up in ditches ' and that's well known fact; no matter what kind of charges one may face you never open your mouth and yap.

My brother always liked to say that everyone wants to be the man until the man knocks on your door; when that occurs will you stand tatll or crumble like a smashed cookie on the floor.

Be the man you claim to be aby stayin real gnd keep your mouth zipped; take full responsibility for your actions plus your sentence you may get and still not flip.

For some strange reason that didn't seem to be what would happen in the place I now call home time after time; saw people talking to the po po with my own two eyes then act like everything is just perfectly fine.

The only thing a witness would produce where I was from just be more prison time; resulting from there testimony under oath describing to the court how you had committed the crime.
