Have You Been Experiencing A Mental And Emotional Breakdown Too?

It may be an invitation to dig within…

Not being the best at making friends, I've become sensitive at noticing trends. Of the little people I know, and from what the world has been generally "emitting" in the last few weeks - but also, through observing myself, because I am my best teacher, just as you are yours -we're experiencing a sense of restlessness, of turbulence, of disharmony. We feel pressured, compressed, ungrounded.

While the most esoteric ones of us will attribute this phenomena to the Moon's cycles, to the year's number, to Mercury and Venus' retrogressions and and so on - a more effective solution to what we're facing right now, which is this feeling of instability - is to ask ourselves why we're so desperate to delegate the responsibility of how we feel and think, to external objects?

As an example. It's true that the Moon has an effect on our emotionality. It's true that we wouldn't exist without the Sun's light. It's true that Jupiter's gravitational pull is strong enough that it affects the Sun's orbit, which protects the Earth in many ways. Planets give out electromagnetic forces that affect life in ways science has not yet completely understood. Those are facts, and we're discovering more of them as we keep improving our scientific tools.

In the meantime though, we're facing a problem, and we can't wait for someone or science to tell us what to do about it.

Have you noticed that whenever we feel something is "wrong," we act compulsively? As examples. We eat without really being hungry, we have sex to alleviate our boredom, we watch movies and TV shows to avoid this feeling of discomfort, and so on. Some of us go as far as to prefer receiving electrical shocks than having to face our thoughts.

What does our tendency to run away from our problems - because they're real, we feel and experience them - what does it say about us? Is it through this pattern that we learn to blame others/events for our difficulties?

Don't we give our power away by giving more credit to our boss, our spouse, the economical situation - which gives them the right to dictate our lives? Is it through blaming others, as an example, that we hold on to our anger and therefore negatively affect our health?

Is it because of this dynamic that we're always waiting to be saved? Is it why we expect our "salvation" to finally happen some day in the future, through some miracles, or even again, through some planetary configurations?

What we learn about ourselves - which can only happen through direct observation of oneself, and not through a book or someone's inspirational speech - is that, we consider ourselves to be responsible and good people, and we are; but deep inside each one of us, we still carry our ancestors' experiences which help us in survival matters, without being completely relevant to modern day living. And it's our responsibility to change that.

We are a part of the world, as much as the world is a part of us. How the world moves affects us as much as how our movement affects the world. While what is out there, and what it does, impacts what is in ourselves, our inner world - it doesn't dictate our lives - it only creates a certain atmosphere that brings up what we need to heal. As the saying goes, "The stars incline us, they do not bind us." We always have the power and the choice to do whatever we want. We've simply forgotten that we do. And now that we're forced to face the facts, we need to exercise that choice in the most adverse of situations, when we're all feeling so compelled to turn unconscious, compulsive, and run away from our discomfort.

As a side note, of course, some rest is always advisable, especially if we spend most of our time in an unhealthy environment. A good break can revitalize our soul. Turning that break into a habit, not so much. You are your best teacher.
