In the training class, the teacher talked about this issue: at present in China, the house can be said to be a necessity for marriage, any pair of men and women talking about marriage, the first thing must first solve the housing problem. And the house must be bought, the ownership must belong to the couple itself, as if only then, these two people are considered to have a real place to live. If it is rented, temporarily borrowed, or parents' property, then it is equivalent to no place to live. But in the West it is different. Westerners before the age of forty can buy a house is definitely an exception, before the age of forty, whether married or not, most of them are renting a place to live, or other channels to obtain a place to live, in any case, not their own money to buy, must be older people to be able to own their own property rights. Strangely enough, young Westerners who get married without buying their own homes do not consider themselves homeless, and men do not feel humiliated by the lack of a wedding home, nor do women feel aggrieved by marrying such a man. On the contrary, both men and women will live in the rented house in peace of mind, living as the Chinese bought their own house.
There are many reasons for this, but it boils down to the differences in thinking and perceptions created by tradition and cultural differences. China started with an agrarian civilization and developed with Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, and at the bottom of their hearts, they long for stability, and their bones will hold on to a certain thing. Therefore, two people to form a family, can not have a car, no savings, no a comfortable and comfortable job, but for the future of the long-term plan, the residence must be a stable. Westerners' ancestors started with outward expansion, and some people say that the West is a bloodthirsty nation, even such a quiet and calm thing as drinking tea, they are willing to choose to drink black tea, because that color is more likely to stimulate their interest than green. Therefore, compared with the Chinese, Westerners prefer to be aggressive and live in the present. Young people in the West put more of their financial resources and energy in the first half of their lives into entrepreneurship and enjoyment.
But I think there is another key point here, that is, the house for Westerners, maybe just a place to live, is a tool for their daily life, living in a bought house or rented house, is to move things into a shell, as normal life, so why care who owns it? But not the Chinese. In China, a house is not a house, but a home. Chinese people buy a house is not just to buy a long-term residence, but more importantly, to find a stable carrier for the family's emotions, so, without clothes called naked, no house is called a naked marriage. This is just like a snail is still called a mollusk even though it has a hard shell on its back. It can be seen that zoologists do not see its shell as part of its body, but without the shell of the snail, none of us will see it as a snail anymore.
When it comes to the word house, we feel that it is a cold, hard object, but when it comes to home, probably everyone will feel warm and soft, and is no longer a dead thing, but is given life. This is because the word house has its own value, and the word "home" contains more profound emotions in it. Perhaps our ancestors invented the word "home" when they literally expressed its use value, that is because emotions are not written into the word, but are artificially added after the person reading the word has perception. We can not have a house, but not without a home.
