What will happen to the stadiums in Qatar after the 2022 World Cup?
When the 2022 World Cup is done, Qatar will have little use for the substantial infrastructure they erected for it, so they have developed a sustainable plan for their eight stadiums.
Regarding football-playing nations, Qatar probably ranks at the bottom of the list as the World Cup hosts.
A considerable portion of the infrastructure required for the event later this year has been created from scratch. Short-term solutions have been implemented to handle many visiting spectators who will visit the Middle East.
The nation will only have eight large stadiums remaining when the hype is over and the traveling parties have left, which is too many for their requirements. So a sustainable plan has been implemented rather than letting them rot away.
In fact, Stadium 974, one of the venues, will be the first World Cup site to be wholly demounted. It will subsequently be delivered to nations requiring enhancements to their athletic infrastructure.
The Lusail Stadium, which can accommodate 80,000 fans for the championship game on December 18, will be converted into a neighborhood gathering place with classrooms, cafes, and medical facilities.
Many more have been built with upper stages that are removable. For instance, the Al Bayt Stadium's 60,000 capacity will be reduced to 32,000.
But the construction of the stadiums has been the subject of intense criticism. Thousands of fatalities were reported, and reports last year claimed that immigrant laborers were risking their lives while being paid only £12 per day for the entire procedure.
170,000 seats will be removed from the several stadiums and transferred to neighboring Middle Eastern nations. Fatma Al Nuaimi, the organizing committee's executive director of communications, said, "We built these stadiums in accordance with Fifa's standards.
"Beyond that, it doesn't amount to much. When the upper deck is removed, we will make sure to fill the space with the requirements of the neighborhood around the stadium.
Each region where the stadiums have sprouted up consists of the requirement of the community. "We are doing everything in consultation with the people. We are listening to what they want—more schools, health, and medical facilities, and more parks to practice sports.
The $10.8 billion price tag for Russia's World Cup was increased by loss-making venues that required pricey yearly maintenance. Only eight of the twelve stadiums from 2018 are still in operation for major matches, and thousands of seats are frequently vacant.
After the last three World Cups in South Africa, Brazil, and Russia, a number of stadiums remained vacant and were not used on a long-term basis. Qatar, though, intends to buck the trend of "white elephants" this time.
Authorities in Qatar have offered to provide undeveloped countries 170,000 stadium seats that have been removed.
According to a news statement from Ali Al Dosari, the stadium's director of installations, "(they) will be given to countries that need sporting facilities." "This will make it possible to spread soccer culture and, to a greater extent, the love of sport over the world."
Two of the top teams in the Qatar Stars League (QSL), local football clubs Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah, will relocate to the new World Cup stadiums after the competition.
The often-utilized stadium has hosted events like the Arabian Gulf Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and the track and field world championships. The Khalifa Stadium will continue to host games and major competitions after the World Cup.
Stadium 974 Ras Abu Aboud's venue won't become a "white elephant" since it won't be around anymore it will be dismantled to make room for a waterfront business development.
Stadium Lusail Stadium with a sitting capacity of 80,000,in accordance with sustainable development, it will become a community hub with housing units, shops, cafes, schools, and medical facilities.
The 60,000-seat Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City will play host to the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador on November 20. Its upper tier will be removed following the competition to create a place for additional seating that will be repurposed. The stadium structure will also include a five-star hotel, a shopping center, and other amenities in addition.
Education City Stadium which is part of Qatar Foundation's Education City will serve as a facility for students at nearby universities. Its capacity will be reduced to just 20,000 seats.
